David Andrews to retire

Yes, I meant once the dynasty era players are all inducted, the past several years haven’t produced too many memorable players.

Andrew’s and McCourty will probably be the last in from that run.

Right now, Maye and Gonzalez look like the next promising candidates. Hopefully they each have well over a decade remaining on their careers here. If they speed up the process of induction, it might be some lean candidate years waiting for them.
100% agree and that's why I wouldn't like more than 1 inductee per year. You start putting 2 guys a year and once the glut dries up you end up with 5+ years of nobody getting in, or forcing in fringe guys.

I enjoy celebrating a new worthy inductee every year. Let's keep that going for as long as possible.

Not shocking, the writing was on the wall. Player thought he still could play, league said nope. Good for him, hope he is happy in retirement.

Actually, that wasn't the message that came through. Andrews thought he could still play but didn't want to play with anyone but the Patriots, so didn't explore options elsewhere.

If the play at Center is bad again this season, that is worth bearing in mind.

They released a quick behind the scenes video yesterday on Andrews' retirement day and he said something along the lines of "Is it worth it to go somewhere for a year or two? Is it fair to your family?". I think he could have at least gotten to camp somewhere and had a chance to play somewhere else but he really seemed to want to be a Patriot and nothing else.
