And they begin it by extending Sweeney. Of course they did.

Well, its pretty clear that this will be it for him and a win/win for us. He will either turn this around into a playoff team or he will finally be gone after two years.

A 2 year extension is hardly a ringing endorsement. Seems more like window dressing to avoid free agents and HC candidates being leery of hitching their wagons to a lame duck GM than a vote of confidence.

He needs to hit on the draft and then improve the 2nd line scoring. First line is good, and the rest of the team seems to be 3rd and 4th line talent. We have some money, so it will be interesting to see who we get

Lot of talk about the B's hiring Marco Sturm but nothing yet out of their front office

I had a buddy in college used to say that all the time. Never heard or seen anyone else use it.
My father had German in High School in the early 40's. Weird that he served on a destroyer in the Pacific.

Most of my German comes from Hogan's Heroes.

Typical right? Put him in the Europe theater where he could use it? Nah. Off to the Pacific.

Marchand discusses his mindset this past season with Boston.
Refreshingly honest....

“I didn’t really want to play contract years out because I never really wanted to have that stress. I always wanted the security of maybe take a little less and you get a deal done early, and you have the security of it being done and you can just worry about playing hockey.”

But the Bruins spent most of last summer focused on Jeremy Swayman assuming contract talks with their captain would be smooth.

“I find when you go into a season playing (without a contract), things matter,” Marchand said. “Your stats matter more. So, it doesn’t just become about the team. When you’re on term and you’re on a contract, it can be all about the team and you can sacrifice whatever you need to be part of the team. But in contract years, you can’t do that. You have to be a little bit selfish.”

Their entire ****ing ownership/mis-management structure ****ing Sucks. ONE ****ing Cup in FIFTY-THREE ****ing years is ALL one needs to know about their ****ing (in)competence. Enjoy the next 35 years of Nothing.

Swayman locked in till 2032
#42 in Goals Allowed/game in 2024-25
#5 on list of highest paid goalies

Thanks Donny !
Here's a contract extension.

This better be #FireSweeney's LAST ****ing hire he's allowed to make.

First Euro HC in team history too. If he were dead, Don Cherry would be spinning in his grave. At least he wore the uni for a couple of seasons...
