Goal 1. What we need to do to win the AFC east in 2025?

There are 2 things that make us competitive in the division in '25
1 - schedule. we have one of the easiest schedules this season, even for an unproven and largely new team.
2 - defense. we're all focused on the retooled and uncertain offensive position groups (OL, WR, QB), but this defense should be a VERY good unit. Doesn't mean we're ready for postseason success, but it may be a reason for 11 wins. And that will keep us in the mix in the division race.

No one should be calling out other team's lack of "impact players" when our top 3 list has Robert Spillane on it, all due respect.
Oh I agree with your overall point, I believe on average most NFL teams have at least 3 players of impact on a 53 man roster if not more. So even if those guys are household names they still make an impact for thier teams. Not sure why Drake wasn't mentioned.. odd.

Good points. The thing is.. instead of starting slow i feel like we need to start fast.. trying to get as many wins as possible earlier in the season. We have a late bye week so that is a factor into possibly dropping a game or 2 if we have guys knicked up.. during the season. Getting the wins early to give guys the continued buy in. It's a long season.

The Buffalo Bills are a team in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL). Specifically, they compete in the AFC East division. The Bills have won the AFC East division title multiple times, including five consecutive titles from 2020 to 2024. So slow down Allen and win the 4th quarter with clutch plays.. Right?
Thanks for the clarification that the Buffalo Bills are a NFL team that compete in the AFC East division. A very important first step in figuring out how to win the division.

I’m assuming we’re not saying “Josh Allen breaks his leg” as a viable reason.

What we’ll need is a positive turnover ratio, the ground and passing game will both need to show up and the free agents that we’ve signed will have to perform to AT LEAST what we see in them for potential

You’ll probably need to steal a game or two that you’re not supposed to win.

I hear ya, our rosters during the championships and winning did posses some high end talent, Seymour, Vrabel, law, Bruschi, Rodney, Malloy, Hightower, Jones, Edelman, Welker, moss, Gronk, Hernandez, McCourty, Wilfork, you make great points. Outside of Allen, millano and cook. There probably isn't much that you'd say can start on an NFL roster.
To be the best we gotta beat the teams ahead of us. Brady won 17 AFC east championships. Remember Tshirt and hat day. We use to joke about it a long time ago. Now is the time to rebuild I hope. Just ain't easy to do. Gotta respect the history of this franchise.

My pleasure. 5 years straight They have won the AFC East too, really. Would be nice to set a big goal this year i.m.o.

I don't know man, unless it's Theismann style a leg break might not do it. In the bus crash scenario I was planning on him breaking his throwing shoulder.

Brady trying to help by getting in his head early.

What any team needs to do to win their division is have a better record, or the same record and better tie-breakers, than 3 other teams. In the case of the Pats, those 3 teams are Buffalo, Miami and the Jets.

The Pats could have a better team, slip in a couple of wins vs the right team or teams and they're on top of the mountain... or hill... or mound.

But, it would be nice if they could at least come up with more home wins for the fans. One a year is tough to take.

Simple.

Win more games than any other team in the division.

Duh.

Doesn’t matter how. Suffocating defense is one of my favorites. But then I loved winning the Lombardi in a Super Bowl that had only one TD, total, scored between both teams. A balanced offense capable of keeping opponents off balance and guessing between run and pass is another alternative that I like. But I also like a power run game where both teams and everyone else in the stadium know what the offense is going to do and they do it successfully anyway.

There are lots of ways to do it. We may even see more than one of those over the course of the season.

Brady's precision incisions and Clock Killin' Corey Dillon made the '04 offense and its death of a 1000 cuts my favorite offense of this century. You could look at the opposing sideline and see them losing their will.

1978 is still #1 in my heart though. Gray folding back the edge, Francis sealing it off and Hannah pulling, clearing up any leakage then clearing the way. Not only did the opposing D know what was coming and failed to stop it, they practically ran the other way rather than take it on. It was glorious, pure football porn

We don’t need to win the division. WC teams win playoff games every year. We can be a WC team this year.

Goal 1: 2025 winning record
Goal 2: 2026 playoff berth
Goal 3: 2027 AFC East Champs

I PERSONALLY don't think 10 wins are off the plate, but that will take the team accepting the vision, and buying into it.
I think they will, I think they will be hard to beat.
We'll see.

I agree. Maybe it is 3 players, not including the QB. If they skipped Maye the ratings are useless.
Yes because Allen was mentioned with Buffalo but Drake wasn't with NE, however spillane was?.. weird to say the least

All those goals under real coaching, a real vision, upgraded roster, complete buy-in, and an owner that's willing to spend, and is hungry to get back to winning ,is all attainable in one season. I'm optimistic
