Cooper Flagg Proposed Trade to Celtics

They move Brown because of the cap concerns new ownership may have. If they do they'll take a major PR hit.

Note- Brown does not have a chronic knee issue. His current injury is new this year.
Not that it's ever going to happen, but I'd actually do a Flagg for Brown trade in a second. Salary, youth, size would all be factors. Might take a bit of an athleticism hit, but its not that anyone would be THAT stupid to make that trade. You only trade for Brown or Tatum for that matter, if you are one player from a Championship run, and anyone in a position to draft Flagg will be FAR from that situation. I no long read those Trade possibility articles in either football or Bball. They are just click bait and waste time.

Good news for me on Brown's knee. For some reason it got into my head that this knee might be a chronic problem.

Not chronic but he won't be anywhere close to 100%, or even 90% throughout the playoffs. If everyone else steps up and stays healthy. C's should still very good. But it makes it much harder.
Would I trade Brown straight up for Flagg? Of course, that's a no brainer for a lot if reasons. Would I trade Tatum for him? HELL NO! Would I trade DWhite for him? HELL NO!

Flagg has great potential but will he ever reach Tatums level? I dont think so.
No he will not be one of the alltime greats. Thats ridiculous. He has holes that will be exposed in the NBA.
Of course, I believe he'll work his butt off to fix those holes and keep improving.
He will be a very good-great player but alltime great? I seriously don't see that.
Larry Bird was 5x better coming out of college than Flagg. Flagg won't come close to Bird.
Not the first round match up I wanted.. but our banged up beloved celtics are going to be in a tough, physical series with the magic. Cs in 6.

Yeah.
SMOKED by the ****s we hate more than any others.
NOONE took the reins with Tatum gone, we got smashed.
Lotsa ********, you need studs in this league, and we don't have enough.
Period.

It's said that Flagg wants to play for the Celtics. What if he makes it known to the Mavs that if they don't trade the #1 pick to the Celtics for Brown (and who and whatever else, except Tatum and White), that he'll go back to Duke for another year (and he'll still be 19 in next year's draft). Crazier things have happened. I don't think such a scenario will unfold, but it's not impossible.

Im not opposed to the Flagg idea.. however we need to see what we have in our own young guys schieremam, Davidson, quata could all play bigger roles next season. We need to prioritize paint scoring snd be more efficient with the 3.. just because we led the league in attempts means nothing IMO. We don't need to go and gut the roster we simply need to tweak some things aside from moving a contract.

It's too bad that in this era, Flagg is pretty much required to leave school after one year. Given the disappointing ending to his season, I think he'd be better off with another season at Duke, especially if he helps them win a championship.
He should have gone to UCONN.

Celtics trade Brown for Flagg, even throw in players & draft picks. Flagg is a can't miss project. I am tempted to trade Tatum. Tatum has not even reached his potential. But Flagg will become one of the all time greats.
Flagg for Brown maybe, Flagg for Tatum, draft picks and keys to the executive wasshroom, nope.
