He played the 8th most snaps on special teams, he also opened up holes in the running game on offense. He was good.

You told me Okorafor, Jordan and Leverett were “good,” then they all got cut midseason. You wouldn’t know good if it slapped you in the face.
I posted his ST snaps above
his offensive snaps were also posted
extremely limited. mostly spread out, not in line THE LIMITED TIMES I SAW HIM PLAY ....LIVE, IN PERSON.
I didn't tell you anything
I posted an opinion.

I do know, most often, you are wrong, and when you are, you change the topic. notice how you switched from he is a good blocker, he isn't, to his ST play, and then onto Okorfor, Jordan, Leverette

meanwhile facts are I said Okorfor was a low cost, change of sscenery option. never did I say he played well. facts also are I said Leverette was a 9th or 10th option on the OL. the first half of the season, Jordan did play well

yet again, you are wrong.

facts suck for you, huh?

Lampe is built like a tank... I don't think bell has that physique. Cut him. Last year evals and selection were all so arbit outside of Maye who was ordered to be drafted by Kraft .

Kraft should get credit for Maye and firing Mayo.

How do you know that Kraft ordered Wolf to draft Maye?

I didn’t change the subject, I said he was a good blocker. Most of what he was doing on special teams was blocking. I can remember repeatedly mentioning in game threads “good block by 88” without even knowing who 88 was.

Again, you didn’t watch any tape on Bell so stop lying.

Here’s a great wham block by Bell in week 10 that opens up a ten yard gain for Rhamondre. (5:27 mark)

I told you in the offseason Okorafor, Leverett and Jordan stunk, that they were jags… you argued otherwise.

All three got cut in-season for sucking, but I’m wrong? You obviously don’t know the definition of the word “wrong.”

while all true, a variety of roles starts with blocking in line, which Bell did very little to none last year, nor in college
he was active for 15 games last year playing 46% of ST snaps, so he may find a spot
he had 83 offensive snaps last year, with 30 of those snaps in the last game against Buff
Right, I dont think that will be a role for him. He will be out of the backfield then maybe switched out to the slot as a Defensive tell. If they want an inline blocker that week the kid from Bama.
read what I said.
I found you tube of him from college, and there was limited snaps of him in line, and when he was shown blocking, he was not good.
I watched him for about 10 snaps in the pro's in person, not on you tube.
he is not a good blocker
stop saying he is a good blocker. he isn't

do you have to argue with everyone? do you know how to disagree with out being offensive?
Bell is a very good blocker, both downfield and in the backfield as a lead blocker and as a pass protector. Just becassue he isn't a guy that can line up on the tackle's shoulder and stifle a Def end, doesnt mean he isn't a good blocker.

saying a player is a good blocker for a WR or for a RB, is a lot different than saying a guy is a good blocker for an OL man or a TE.
if the team is going to keep 3 TE's, my opinion is Dippre does what the team will need better than Bell.
if the team is going to keep a FB, my opinion is that Lampe does what the team will need better than Bell\
if Henry or Hooper were not on the team, Bell would have a chance to be a mid to poor blocking TE, that can get open and make some catches.
maybe he makes his mark on ST
but he is not as good a TE as Henry or Hooper. he is not as good a blocker as Dippre or Lampe.
he may be a candidate for the PS, with an eye towards next season, with Hooper only on a 1 year deal

Ultimately I think the best talent wins but you seem to be touching on an interesting point what's more important as a backup versatility or redundancy?

Do you want your backup to be able to do similar things as your starters so that the offense can stay the same in case of injury then you want redundant talent.

However there are only so many spots on the team and you need guys that can do different things and having a 3rd TE with more unique skill sets makes sense for this reason.

Lampe hasn’t done sht… he’s an UDFA from the tiny Mid-American Conference. He’s also a poor athlete. Lampe was playing against a bunch of kids who will be working at UPS next year.

You didn’t watch any Lampe tape, you didn’t watch any Bell tape. Literally the only reason you’re taking this stance is because Wozzy lives rent free in your head and said he likes Bell’s chances at FB.

Present your evidence Bell is a poor blocker… show us how you know this?

Poor blockers don’t play max snaps on special teams as a blocker… the very premise is stupid.

We have reached the pits of hell when a thread is 5 pages long on whether a 3rd string at best TE will or should make the team. The season cannot get started quick enough.

My unscientific survey when I watched him play is that he seemed to be running around out there with no clue. And seems like if anyone's status from old regime is in doubt, they're gone.

Why would you think Lampe who caught all of 10 passes in college gets the nod over Bell in a Mcdaniels offense.

again, just an opinion.
I think a stud blocker at TE gets on the field more on offense, than a pass catching TE that is behind Henry and Hooper (and maybe Scott)
Bell can catch, run. he is a poor in line blocker, but so is Hooper.
as I first posted, I believe Hoopers contract ended Bell's chances.

you're like dog poop on the bottom of a shoe that won't scrape off, aren't you?

Why would you think Lampe who caught all of 10 passes in college gets the nod over Bell in a Mcdaniels offense.
I think Lampe might be like Devlin (played DL at Brown)
I would assume Lampe at most, gets 2-3 passes thrown his way in a season. He gets maybe 5-7 carries in a season. but he blocks like an OG out of the backfield with a running start, with a RB behind him

Totally agree.

He is not a better pass catcher than Hunter/Cooper. I dont think he could fill a FB role better than a true one in Lampe nor do I think he is a better blocking TE than Dippre who was primarily used as a blocker at Bama. So is his chance on the team the chance that he can do a little bit of everything but maybe not any one thing better than the rest. I guess if you needed to make space for a player Bell could kinda kill two birds (Lampe/Dippre) with one stone but you cant feel good about it.

it could also be Lampe or Dippre. only 1 makes the roster.
Dippre surprised me catching the ball
Lampe has almost zero offensive contributions, aside from blocking
they will be fun to watch over the summer.
I usually get out there 2 or 3 times most years

I wish I had the article cached because it was outstanding but years ago the folks at Pats Pulpit did some analysis over the 2013 and 2014 seasons which basically showed every time Develin was in the formation JE and Gronk averaged more yards per catch and had a better catch % than when he was not on the field. Brady's #s were also better across the board.

The conclusion was selling the PA was easier and even with Dev going out as a decoy receiver, he needed to be covered thus leaving other receiving targets with man to man or zone coverage

To your point, if he does make the team and sees regular time, just by being out there opens things up for everyone else on the offense.

Thats really the main reason why JMD loves the FB
