Four picks? Four PICKS?? FOUR FEKKIN' PICKS????

*yawn* it's practice. In May. Don't care.
I read those four picks came in the first session, he bounced back in the second session and didn't throw any

'Maye showed some short memory, however, and rebounded strongly in the second session of team work. He ended his day by throwing three straight perfectly placed balls to Henry over the middle, a great timed pass into the Cover 2 hole to Williams on a corner route along the sideline, and a back-shoulder ball downfield to Javon Baker against Gonzalez.''

I have to admit that our initial instinct is to be outraged by the media's massive overreaction to Maye's 4 picks yesterday. But shouldn't the reaction be "amused". I mean it's hilarious in some sense that on first day of team passing drills we are getting complete passing stats like it's a ****ing game.

BTW- IIRC, Tom Brady once threw 5 picks in a PLAYOFF game, so I'm not really worried that Drake Maye threw 4 during a shorts and T-shirt exercise FOUR months before the first game.

Also, I don't blame the media for their overreaction. They have to provide content and make it seem important in order to get paid, even when it's still May during an OTA.

I didn't read anything, TBH. It's OTAs in May, with a new OC and likely new reads. I expect a lot of growing pains between now and Opening Day. I would expect a lot more going forward until they get it right.

He's probably practicing against a Top10 Defense right now Top 6 by mid season. Pats Defense in 2025 will be its' strength.

Their will be some upset posters here when Boutte and possibly Bourne make the 53.
Boutte had a one of the better Sophomore years for a Patriots WR under an Abysmal Coaching Staff. But goes unnoticed by some: the same ones who were merciful to Busts like Harry and Thornton in year 3.

I don't care about the picks at early OTAs or the hitch since it appears to only appear early in OTAs/camp when he's struggling to process the offense but this is the first year you have to start judging the wins and losses.

We can all admit Drake was dealt a horrific hand year one but franchise quarterbacks don't keep franchises picking in the top 10 so the Patriots need to start trending towards the middle fast or you can fairly start critiquing him like we do other QBs in the league, you're judged by winning games and there's not many pro bowl caliber QBs who don't have their team regularly above .500.

IF K Bourne plays up to his potential bye bye Mack Hollins. Bourne is slightly younger and should be a better overall Receiver.

I remember when Peyton Manning was throwing picks his Rookie year. How did his Hof career turned out later?? It's not how you start it's how you finish: Maye is now set up for NFL success.

Just food for thought - Onwenu's weight was especially problematic last year because of the type of scheme Alex Van Pelt was running, which needed athleticism from the OL. Switching back to a McDaniels scheme, it won't really matter as much if Onwenu is chunky. If it helps him be a bully in the run game, maybe it's a plus?

Not that heavy though.

Like Trenni Clancy on Early Edition just now suggesting that Drake's 4 picks today may mean that the prior optimistic W/L predictions for the upcoming season should be dialed back. I'm serious.

They should be, but not because of yesterday (although yesterday didn't help either).

Bourne: 29 yo (2 teams in 9 seasons)

Hollins: 31 yo (6 teams in 8 seasons)

Wasn't Ricci one of Vrabel's guys?

02/03/25 Signed TE Giovanni Ricci
04/28/25 Released TE Giovanni Ricci
