Is that really right? My impression was that 2-point predominates for passing plays. But can't say I've ever looked closely.Most plays in the NFL are run with the tackles in a 3-point stance.
In the college game I've seen a 70% 2-point stance claim (link below) - and that was a few years ago, so likely even more now. Some of that maybe comes from the Pop Warner ranks where the 3-point stance is outlawed to protect against head impacts.
Why the three-point stance could become a football thing of the past
Fewer hands in the dirt, fewer head injuries? The two-point stance appears safer for linemen and a better fit for today's game.
