I just heard the interviews with Campbell, Williams, and Wilson talking to the media.

We have already heard Will Campbell but was me first time hearing Kyle Williams and Jared Wilson.

Kyle was serious and confident. He mentioned that his goal is to be an elite player, but it was big delivered braggadociously like we heard from Baker last year.

I was really impressed with Jared Wilson. Personable and intelligent, very well-spoken. Seems like a leader.
You can tell they put a big premium on guys who are serious about football, professional, and smart. These guys are shining examples so far.

Really all of their first 5 picks fit the mold. They started to flirt with guys with a bit more iffy history with Swinson, etc later on but those are fairly late picks, and they’d already secured a lot of other professional guys to enforce the culture they want, so there’s a bit of room for those minor risks. Worst case scenario is you are cutting a middle/late day 3 pick. Swinson is really the only known character questions guy; I think Farmer had some minor questions but it was really minor.

Let's kick things off with a Vrabel presser:

One thing i like about Vrabel as HC as opposed to Mayo. Some guys just seem to have leadership fit them naturally. Never felt that with Mayo. With Vrabel he definitely gives off that vibe. I think that is something a lot of young men respond to well, which is what most these guys are. As for the older guys, the vets probably appreciate the steadiness.

Getting players to buy in to his vision generally hasn't been an issue for Vrabel. He was considered one of the best recruiters in the country during his OSU days.

For people wondering about John Jiles. The dude is a bit of a freak athlete apparently. Not the fastest or quickest but with his size taken into account he is relatively fast and quick.

Play 2 years at a Fort Scott Community college. Did very well there. Total of 1500+ yards 12 TDs in 2 years.
Then transferred Virginia Union where he got 9 more TDs 627 yards
Then in his final year in college transferred to West Florida where he got 1255 yards and 16 TDs in 2023.
After going un-drafted (and it seems like he was on the radar for a number of teams, but just wasn't called) he went to the Giants as an UDFA.

So to sum up. He went from non-division for 2 years. Eventually Dominated
moved up to a lower D2 did great there but their weak passing game didn't let him show.
moved up to a higher D2 his final year with a very strong year.

Seems like maybe he just wasn't ready for the NFL last year. Too raw, too much to learn. Giants core was too talented to crack. The top 3 are secured. a 3rd round pick from 2023 takes the 4th spot and a vet in the 5th spot who has done things in the NFL but is on the back burner there. With such a strong core maybe they didn't feel the need to invest in holding the young player and considering what a project he was they decided against keeping him when they had what they needed in place already. He was waived by the end of camp.

Picked up by the Pats in September.

So Jiles may be a name too watch. He had talent in HS as a 3 star recruit but seemed super raw as a prospect and probably didn't get the coaching help he needed till he went to D2 to try to start to fix it. Maybe after a year on the practice squad (if he was there all year for us after signing?) he is a bit more up to speed? Could be a guy to watch. Not saying he cracks the 53... but stranger things have happened.

Williams not a deep threat gives me a good chuckle .
Steve Smith says Kyle Williams reminds him of himself and Jamaar Chase...if he's one percent of them we're good.

His arms are an inch and a half longer than Campbell's. All you need to know.

Almost forgot Kyle Williams played with QB Cam Ward at WSU he's in good company.

Cancer doesn’t seem to fit the reported facts. He was going home for spring break, stayed in Detroit for rehabilitation. So it sounds like it was sudden onset and serious consequences from which he is now recovering. My first thought was heart, or possibly high blood pressure or even a mild stroke. Hopefully it was just a wake up call without lasting damage.

Pats DC Williams' absence due to 'health scare'
Sounds like heart to me, I have been there so I have an idea how he feels if it is a heart problem. He seriously needs to loose some weight. Best of luck to him though, lets hope we see him back soon.

Very optimistic twin on our draft picks... so we'll see when the pads come on for real in July when competition is ramped up...

He mentioned that he was neglecting his health for the longest time.. so a culmination of health issues plus age 50.. he looks good from his presser and seems like he will be back with the team come mandatory mini-camp...

Guys an excellent coach, and hope to see him soon!

Injuries happen. He would be good PS candidate but could make 53 if someone at the top gets injured.
Need guys like him to step in

A huge number of Vrabel's Titans went vegan...maybe Vrabel can carry some of that to Williams.

If you have watched "The Game Changers," documentary, check it out. Eye-opening.

Thanks for that information. Or he can try the new GLP-1s.. doctor recommended especially designed for folks with hypertension and heart related issues like Williams does.. was reading up on his back story.. he lost a child at 4 years old to illness in 2012.. the guy's experienced alot of family trauma...

It's unlikely, but not impossible...

Baker i think has no shot... the roster was weak last year... he couldn't even outplay polk and has much less potential. Baker is gone.. I think they cut Bourne for cap reasons. Boutte might be traded.. Chism while i feel is NFL ready may need some time... add an injury may happen or Polk really is unsalvageable and that is clear before week 1. There is a path... if he is good enough.

Though if all that is the case we may not trade Boutte, but maybe we feel Chism will be ready soon anyway and decide to go light at the spot or give him a look cause he might be worth it.

Interesting that Campbell said they started to train him on a 3-point stance, which is new to him. I guess for obvious running plays?
