Strong guy, great hands, but dead slow like Chism. Not as bad since Dippre is much bigger, but he is an UDFA because he lacks explosion and speed.

I have seen the responses to our positivity putting a damper on our enthusiasm. We suffered one of the worst rosters and coaching staff in the league last year. It was unbearable right to the end. Now we have burned it all down and sewn the seeds of a new team replacing the coaching staff and plugging roster holes with exciting prospects. I am not buying Super Bowl tickets, but I reserve the right to harbor unbridled enthusiasm for the upcoming season. There are reasons for optimism practically everywhere yup look. And while statistical averages tell us to expect the most common, we have all witnessed the most exciting aspect of sports: exceeding expectations. I lived 2001-2002 and that was as big an outlier as it gets. Everything usually doesn’t go right, but it can. And if it does, the pieces are in place for a surprisingly rewarding season. There will be plenty of time down the road for circumspection. Now is not the time. It is the offseason and anything is possible.

Being that Henry and Hooper are 31 and Hooper is on a 1 year deal I can see them keeping a 3rd TE.. we have always held 3 TEs when we had a FB in devlin even. Bell is a undeveloped player with talent. I see Josh developing him.

If you can tell me who is going to contribute on special teams then it will be much easier to predict the last 10 guys on the 53. Brandon Schooler is one, who are the others?

Not every TE has to be 6-6 260. There are different roles for different skill sets and body types. Not every RB is 6-0 235, there are different roles for different guys.
This idea that you can't use an athletic 6'2 240 guy because he doesn't fit your prototype doesn't make sense, To the point that you really don't know that much about creating a roster.

Ive never understood pessimism especially as a fan. The season is much more enjoyable when you have high expectations.
In the end you are going to feel the same way about the results. Wining is winning and losing is losing and I’ve never felt better about either because of whether I expected it or not.
Why not enjoy the ride?

I think those saying we lack depth are wrong. I mean., we don’t have pro bowlers as backup ups but who does?
Offensively at QB we have a veteran with some experience who was in the Shanahan qb academy last year.
We are deep at RB.
In many places we have last years starters as backups. They weren’t good starters but having guys with starting experience as backups is a plus.
Defensively when you project the roster I don’t see many guys making our 53 that wouldn’t make most.

It really only takes one good draft to get back to relevance. Coaching is super important, but health and 45 players that aren’t liabilities is even more important. Do I think we will hit on most of the additions? I am not just not sure.

We just see him differently, he isn't a great athlete in any of the measured categories; he doesn't generally run routes well enough to create space; and he doesn't seem to be self driven enough to put in the extra work to learn a playbook. He can make highlight catches, and that seems to be enough for alot of people to overlook everything else.

Bell is an above average straight-line athlete, but he is small for an inline TE, doesn't really show aptitude as a blocker as a FB or inline TE; and doesn't really move well enough to be a move TE.

I think Baker's best chance to make the roster is if Diggs starts the season on PUP, I doubt Bell makes it.

They both had the pleasure to play for Amateur at best Coaches Mayo and AVP. Now Vrabel and McDaniels the comparisons are out of this world. IF Baker and Bell can't put in together it's on them this time around.

People see. To think big turn around are unlikely. They happen every single year. Look at the Chargers last year. New coach (top 10 all time guy possibly, but still, new culture and a good off season. Suddenly they flip from being in the basement to in the playoffs.

BB is gone. And thank you very much but I've heard enough about Special teams for a life time. All I want from the unit is a good kicker, a good punter and not to noticably suck at other things. I really don't care who plays as long as they aren't actively bad as long as we have 1 ace for the unit like Scooler.

Some optimism is warranted and deserved. This roster looks the best that it has since 2019, and we have a complete and competent coaching staff for the first time since 2021. The schedule has 8 eminently winnable games. If we can steal a couple, the path to a playoff appearance is here.

Absolutely agree. Hernandez was about 6'2 and 235-240.. he was a match up nightmare similarly to Jonnu Smith and all he does for that Miami offense. Bell has athletic abilities and was taken as a flier in the 7th . Pretty much to be developed.. he's definitely worth keeping around on the roster even on the practice squad if anything.
