@maustI was just saying rebuilding since brady left as a figure of speech... there was a glimmer of hope being 9-3 in 2021 atop the AFC at one point. However it was all a mirage.. the drafting essentially from 2017 and up is what had us in this situation. The OL was a mess, and band aids thown at the problem... brady was never properly planned for.. the joke of actually thinking Jarrett stidham was an NFL player was laudable. He couldn't beat out cam Newton who can't throw a Frisbee... so a culmination of factors led to dismal 4-13 years as we all know... drafting, poor player development and coaching I'd say were the problems. For me as a fan.. I'm looking at like a reset for the organization the pieces and structure is in place now it's all about what happens on the field..
Anytime you can work in an Inigo Montoya quote IS the right time to work in an Inigo Montoya quote. And it is impossible to see that gif and not instantly hear Wallace Shawn's Vizzini saying 'Inconceivable!' in your head
@maust
Referring to 2021 when we at one point we're 9-3 atop the AFC after beating Buffalo in the wind game... remember??
This whole thread drives home to me that the 2025-26 Patriots are incredibly interesting. Think of how many players, schemes and storylines you're fascinated to see develop.
I have middling expectations for wins, but sky-high expectations for this season to be fun.
Your right... you had said your confused so I had wanted to clarify my post... I meant "laughable "...OFC I remember, what Pat's fan could forget a game where they went 2 for 3 for under 20 yards passing and they won?
That doesn't change how funny calling it 'laudable' though, that was some great unintended **** right there
I do believe you meant "Diego", not "Inigo".Anytime you can work in an Inigo Montoya quote IS the right time to work in an Inigo Montoya quote. And it is impossible to see that gif and not instantly hear Wallace Shawn's Vizzini saying 'Inconceivable!' in your head

If not..Prepare to Die!
No schmuck named Inigo has a snowballs chance in hell of killing me..

We’re in year 2 of the rebuild. Last year provided nothing but Maye. Have to fix the damage that was done last year.Multi-year rebuild starting when? You could say that we've gone through year 1, acquired Drake Maye, and now we're in year 2. To me this seems similar to Belichick & Brady's 2nd season when we won a SB with a young QB and a grizzled veteran defense. The bonus we have is an extremely weak schedule - there's a lot of bad teams and we play every one of them. Therefore our potential (and my expectation) is 10 wins and a playoff berth. We won't be ready to roll into KC or Baltimore and win that type of playoff game, but we're past the "rebuild" phase at that point.
I think whenever there is a coaching staff overhaul the rebuild starts over. To me, we’re in Y1 of what we can effectively call the Vrabel rebuild. Hopefully he can manage to get 3 years to rebuild the team in his image. If not, a new coaching staff and front office resets it again.Multi-year rebuild starting when? It's like between 1 and 2: we landed Maye last year, which is as far as the rebuild got, but obviously a huge part of where we are. And now Vrabel's first year is such a gigantic overhaul that it counts more than the typical 1st year. This team is gonna hit the ground running a LOT faster than the typical 1st year of rebuild. The remake is so extensive that it's not even accurate to tie this team to a 4-win season. That was a different team.I think whenever there is a coaching staff overhaul the rebuild starts over. I thought it was an autocorrect error in your post....so I googled it. And I'll be damned. H
You have to give them a pass for last year. Like that SB we lost to the Giants: in that almost perfect season...I don't want to remember.Baker and Bell had 3 combined catches last year, and bad as Polk was he had 4x as many catches as them combined.
None of them had any impact on a very bad roster, Baker barely got on the field with the worst WR corp in the league, and people think he is going to improve with a language/scheme change?
I think our best hope for additional future production from the '24 draft is from the OL guys.
