Are there veterans who don't fit in as part of the future?

He's been a good run defender which he would've fit in well with the early Pats teams. As I've mentioned before, I could see him playing early downs, but coming out in obvious passing situations for Landry.
Yes, if you can play the run your going to have a job in the NFL. He was basically the only stand out against the run and setting the edge last season. Landry is a 3 down player he can play the run and rush the passer.. Jennings is coming along with pass rush.. him being under some real coaching now so benefit his overall game. Fact is we can't just release everyone. Jennings is worth keeping around even if he's a rotational player. The depth right now is already much better than last year.

I knew he was playing better the past couple years but I didn't realize how much better.
He is by position an OLB.. but he had to play DE last season due to injuries and the ****ty depth we had. He's a versatile guy and Vrabel can use him especially him being a top edge setter in the league.

Bourne has done nothing in his career to warrant telling coaches what they should be doing. Bill put him in his place and Bourne didn’t like it.
Yeah. Bill put him in his place so effectively that Bill got fired and KB got a big contract extension.

A contract extension that isn't worth the paper its printed on.

Small signing bonus and big on salary which means he is on thin ice. All that is really guaranteed with these NFL contracts is signing bonus unless otherwise stated.

Hell let’s not screw around.
Cut Drake Maye and save $17,500,000.
Cut Carlton Davis and save $22,800,00.
Cut Milton Williams and save $37,000,000.
Cut Christian Barmore and save $12,275,000.
That's how much bigger the cap hit would be if they are cut. That's negative savings.

I feel like some of the biggest standouts have already been cut. Like others have said, Bourne could be another, but the WR room will be pretty interesting. I have no idea what will come out of that by the end of August.

Also, I hesitated to open this thread...

I feel this everyday lol

You must be short, no?

I think "being in shape" to play OT is different than OG. Onwenu was yo-yo'd back and forth.
let him settle in at OG and lets see how he looks beside a real nfl OC and RT.
when he has been able to do that, he has looked very good.
based on the past couple of drafts, it also looks like Onwenu will be on an OL with 3, maybe 4 other OL (after this year) that would be on their rookie contracts.
Onwenu has shown he can be very good. his contract is not onerous. he should be a leader and captain from the Ol group

Morgan Moses will be the Captain of the OL.

You're talking out your rear end. Since you weren't paying attention, Bourne was one of two players to have actually PLAYED in a Shanahan Outside zone Scheme. Trent Brown was the other one. They certainly had more knowledge of the scheme than Patricia. So yeah, I would expect them BOTH to tell Patricia if he was screwing it up. Which they did. And Patricia punished Bourne for it.

Maybe you should stop spewing BS and deal in facts. Oh. Wait. It's YOU. You never deal in facts. Only your moronic opinions that are easily debunked with reality.
I always find it amusing when a grown man like yourself gets worked up with what is anonymously said online about someone you don't even know. There are many other things to get mad about in life. This is not one of them. You have 2 options: You can put me on ignore like I thought you had done almost 4 years ago or you can try this other option that will knock your socks off. You can use this device called a "mouse" and do what I do whenever I see your posts by simply scrolling right past them because they are must skips.

What makes your rant even more pathetic is that you just got fact checked in this very thread right before you were dumb enough to come at me. You didn't even know an OL hasn't been on the team since September. For a guy that preaches "facts" and "reality", doesn't even know what OL are currently on the roster.

And I really don't need for you to tell me about Bourne, Trent Brown and Shanahan as I talk about the 49ers more than anybody on this board. My predictions about Brown were too easy.

Trent Brown:

Kendrick Bourne:

To end it, I'll share with the class your last failed attempt attempt to flex on me only to immediately edit your post after I laid your ass out in the game day thread almost 4 years ago.
Money should’ve been used towards their best CB in Gilmore. Who would you rather have?
And what would the Pats have done without Mills for the first 8 7 games?? Because Gilmore hasn't have played yet. He may not play next week against the Pats. Do you stop and think before you post?
Gilmore played today big guy. Got an INT. Do you stop to think before you post?

Vrabel / Williams runs a 4-3 Under. Jennings will likely be lining up at OLB and not DE.. Landry played on the D-Line as a Light DE opposite a Heavy such as White. There is no reason that BOTH can't be on the field.

Claiming that Jennings is "atrocious at rushing the passer" tells everyone you're a muppet who regurgitates the BS from the buffoons on this board and don't actually watch the games.

What people like yourself refuse to acknowledge is that Jennings has actually improved his pass rushing totals each year.
2022 - 159 pass rushing snaps - 1 sack, 2 hits, 8 hurries ( 1 pressure per 18 pass rushes)
2023 - 275 pass rushing snaps - 2 sacks, 2 hits, 17 hurries ( 1 pressure per 14.5 pass rushes)
2024 - 348 pass rushing snaps - 3 sacks, 6 hits, 22 hurries ( 1 pressure per 11.2 pass rushes)

Is he all world? No. But to say he's atrocious says you aren't paying attention.

Not to mention that he had the improvement despite not having Barmore on the field or Judon on the team.

BTW, if Jennings is "atrocious" at 1 pressure per 11.2 pass rushes, what does that make Landry at 1 pressure every 14.1 last season? Or K'Lavon Chaisson at 1 pressure every 10.7 pass rushes.
Going out of your way to defend a guy as a pass rusher with 5.5 career sacks in 4 years is quite comical and not even worth my time. And telling the class you're surrounded by "buffoons" on this board is not a good look for you. PFF stats are only used to win internet arguments which did nothing for you in this case.
