Road games

I've only been to one road game in my life - 2014 Pats at Chargers in Qualcomm. I was in SD for a food conference and couldn't pass up the opportunity. Not the best game but a W and Brady hit Edelman for a long TD in the 4th to seal it.

I've only been to 2 other Pats games tbh - both playoff wins in Gillette.

Pats Jags in 05 - I was in the endzone Ben Watson ran to, what a fun moment

and

18-1 against the Chargers - my sister worked at Gillette at the time serving food and got my dad and I tickets last minute

Eagles fans were mostly good at SB38. Every time one spouted off about the Eagles winning a Pats fan would tell them that NE does not lose big games. I met Jim Kelly at the Amsterdam Bar directly across from a stadium entrance. Huge, built like a LB. Day of the game I drove down and parked 2 blocks from the stadium for free. Ticket prices were crazy ($1700 and higher) and there were rumors of fakes floating around. So, I watched the game at the Amsterdam along with other NE fans. 2 brothers from around Boston were there for entertainment. They were hilarious. Short guys and one had been at Yankee stadium for the Pedro opting to stay in the game loss. He was there all by himself arguing with Yankee fans. Surrounded, he challenged them all to a fight because they were laughing at him.

@ SB52 Eagles fans were more dooshy. One tried to run me off the sidewalk by walking directly at me. Giants fans attempt the same game of intimidation. Its sad that they are so insecure and live through their football team. Day of the game I drove down to the stadium and parked across the street for free. Tried to get a ticket, but $3000 was the lowest and it was nosebleed. Eventually pulled up stakes and went back to the bar and grill near the hotel. Low and behold, I wound up watching the game with Snoop Dogs body guards.
I was at SB38. Mostly a great time except the city couldn't handle the crowds. Had to celebrate the win at Hooters since it was the ONLY place opened after the game. I remember hanging with a couple Pats fans who are probably on this forum. From talking to other fans that weekend it seemed like the place to stay was out on the beach. I had just moved from Philly to Denver and was traveling/staying with my friends from Philly who were Eagles fans. Stayed at a VRBO/ABNB or whatever it was called back then. No smart phone those days. Got lost trying to find the place a in the wee hours following the game and hot wings(Hooters). Finally did so and had to just about break the door down to get in since I didn't have a key or the code. My Philly friends were not happy getting woken up by a happy Pats fan at 1am. LOL

The guy sitting next to me gave me a hard time. Philly fan. I may have said something to antagonize him.... Some memories are blurry these days.

The stadium ran out of beer and water by halftime I think. Total bush league operation there in Jax.

I also froze my *** off. Who knew Northern Florida would be cold in January...

Those were different times in 2003.

$1700 was a lot for a ticket (to me) but today its small change. Jax was flooded with Eagles fans. It may have been 50 - 50, but it seemed like they outnumbered NE fans. The stadium did seem rinky dink so I'm not shocked that they ran out of beverages. The Jaguars stadium is one of the most underperforming venues in the NFL. Security on Super Bowl Sunday was non existent compared to Indy who had the whole downtown locked down with a police car at every intersection.

It was cold. I dont recall the sun shining all that much. Other than the win, meeting Jim Kelly and the characters from Boston, I had an alright time in Jax. I was glad to get out of there.

I went to the opening day game in Buffalo in 2003. They hyped up Lawyer Milloy in introductions like he was Hulk Hogan. Sam Adam’s intercepted Brady right in front of us. The fans were relentless as we left midway through the 4th.

We got the last laugh.

Buff was one of my first road trips and the city has its charm and the stadium despite being old wasn't that bad. Good sightlines like most old stadiums. I'll probably check out the new one once. But the problem is they are a bunch of drunk A-holes. I'm mostly done with that scene.

For me the worst one I've been too was San Diego. Great weather and hard to beat the city at least back then. But going to a game there actually felt a little dangerous and very much different than Buffalo. Buff they were just ****s Chargers stadium felt like you might get robbed or stabbed.

I never did Oakland or Philly though.
I was in SD for the lights out playoff game.

Marty Schottenhiemer got fired after that loss. Stadium employees were flashing me gang signs because it looked like a Chargers win. Then, the SD Kicker shanked the FG. Pats move on. I never saw a parking lot and fanbase clear out so fast. I stayed in the stadium after the game, but it was brief. When I came out it looked like after a rock concert with trash everywhere and no people.

The next game was Indy and I was there too. Manning finally beat the Pats.

Have been to several away games Buffalo, Jets, Baltimore, Cleveland, Philly, Washington, Carolina. It is different now that Brady/Hoodie are gone. Buffalo is a tolerable crowd, Jets =bitter angry lots of vitriol. Cleveland they were probably the most tolerable, (the municipal lots are a must) Philly, really not worth it, just mean/nasty all day. Ravens tooo much drinking fans just want to fight argue. Washington it was before RGiii so it was like a PATS home game. Carolina was pleasureable other than outcome(Gronk held (non call game). Have Nashville/Tampa on target for this year.

I'm pretty limited in road games. We did the Buffalo trip a bunch during the dynasty years, really pre-mafia days. We were there the night Brady calls his best game, when he had 5 TDs in the first half.

The last trip, we were celebrating a win in our Eazy-Up tent with sides, grilling some dinner. Cops came and knocked on the door, said it was time for us Patriots fans to leave. Looked across the parking lot, and there was a car burning. I said "IS THAT A CAR??" and the cops said yes, and then waited while we tore down and cleaned up. Made them plates of food, as there was always too much.

Went to Super Bowl 36, that was an experience of a lifetime.

I've actually enjoyed my trips to NJ with no issues I expected worse with the whole NY Boston rivilary stuff but never had an issue. And I even bought a Mo Lewis jersey off the back of a fan.

I've really only had a bad experience at Buff and San Diego.

I was at the spygate Jets game. Randy Moss's first Pats game.

I rented a car. HAHA I noticed that all the Taxi cabs had fresh paint jobs, but when you got up close they were riddled with whiskey dents. Off peak hours they must run them through a paint booth in lieu of a car wash. Stayed in Secaucus and wherever I went saw Giants stuff. Nobody likes to admit they like the Jets. Gameday I sat up with the nosebleed crowd. They were busy most of the game making paper airplanes and cursing at the Jets. They know how to leave a stadium parking lot in a hurry too.

I wanted to go to 36, but I had a lucky seat at the Other Place sports bar.

Only after the Pats won the first Super Bowl did I dare to move.

Every NFL game involves excessive drinking and whatever else.

Denver fans get stupid drunk. Chief fans the same way.

That's the same game the Mo Lewis jersey was purchased.

We were in the end zone that Moss caught his bomb in.

Been to road games in Denver, Miami, Tennessee and Kansas City.

Best-Miami
Worst-Kansas City by far.

Started a tradition of going away with my brother in law once a year, last two years were London and Frankfurt, year before was Green Bay.

I think we’ll do Tennessee this year because I think the only option they would have to go back overseas would be Miami

Lots of people looking at Tennessee this season.

In hear that they have a NEP fan club there. Nashville must be a great time for nightlife and going out.
