He fumbled once out of 165 touches in college. Once. Not an issueAs long as he doesn't fumble he is an upgrade.

erson'sHe blocks his ass off!
First part sums it up. He's a mean mean smart tough blocker. Aware. A lot of upside in the rec game imo. Idk but I think he's our new starter by the end of the year. They couldn't decide between another OL or a RB and so they picked a combo.
Never seen a guy that size block so fearlessly and ferociously.
He's going to stress defenses a lot - think triple option by Maye where they also really never know if Henderson's going to stay in pass protection, run the ball or catch it himself. And who do they cover him with? LB will be too slow and many corners will be too small.
Nick Saban said he will be Rookie of the Year500 yards in the air is my standard starting point metric if you aren't doing that it is hard to say they are doing enough to really impact the game. That is want i want in a 2nd round running back along with being a great runner. If he can give us that, i will be singing a different tune. He didn't do it in college in any year. Which concerns me. If he does it with us i will be happy.
First draft in a long time where we used all of our early round picks and I didn’t find any of them to be a reach. I’m excited by Henderson and Williams. This draft could be a home run that sets us straight and into playoff contention soon.Love this pick!!! He can help protect the qb, he can run. He wouldn’t be there in round 3. Pumped that we aren’t getting any bizarre Rutgers head scratchers. Give me boring predictable picks all freaking day!
Or the year we drafted Sony Michel instead of his teammate Nick Chubb. Some teams make bad decisions. We traded our 2nd Round Pick last year to another team that drafted Ladd McConkey.
Sony Michel you mean.Or the year we drafted Maroney instead of his teammate Nick Chubb.
I'm just glad it looks like the shoe is on the other foot now! The careers of Judkins and Henderson will definitely be compared going forward.
Yes you're right, Sony Michel. I got one draft FLOP confused with another.Sony Michel you mean.
Just a quick question, why do you say that he is not a very good pass catcher?I am going off his past history of carries over the season. If he can do more great. Even if he can do 20 carries a game, he still wouldn't be my pick. To be worth this pick considering his inability to catch particularly well IMO he needs to be insanely good on the ground. Like practically Derrick Henry good. I have mentioned it before but for various reasons RBs who can't catch a lot and get big YPC constantly really limit their value.
IMO for an RB to have any really value there are a few metrics they need to pass... 6.67 Yards per touch. It is hard to hit that number unless you catch a lot and well as well run close or over 5YPA if not over. As for why that number. It has to do with getting 20 yards on average for 3 touches (staying relevant with variance per play as well as overcoming penalties which tend to happen on most drives.)
Also catching is also about staying relevant in the game, period. You will sometimes face DLs that beat yours or Ds good against the run that you just can't run against on the per attempt basis you want. Do you want your 38th overall pick to just have no value some games? I don't. Which is why the damage they can do with the ball in the air is so important. Not to mention being able to get enough yards overall that have a big enough per play average to be relevant means a lot of touches.
I am also envisioning Gibby and Hendo in the backfield, both are very good pass catchers. Both can run routes out of the backfield or motion them both out in 3 WR sets and go empty. Now you have 2 quick pass catching RBs covered by LBs or Safety's, I imagine the defense would have the defense set to deal with 2 RBs so bigger bodies.Think about this. Line up both Stevenson and Henderson in the backfield together. Defense doesn't know if we're going thunder or lightning and bear in mind that while I'm not suggesting Henderson is a full back, he can certainly isolate a linebacker, safety or NCB as a lead blocker. But not just that, motion Stevenson into the slot and suddenly you've got a 3 WR set with Rhamondre still in the backfield while having a linebacker covering Stevenson.
I think that's a wrinkle Josh McDaniels can exploit.
James White - Rex Burkhead yeah I remember.I am also envisioning Gibby and Hendo in the backfield, both are very good pass catchers. Both can run routes out of the backfield or motion them both out in 3 WR sets and go empty. Now you have 2 quick pass catching RBs covered by LBs or Safety's, I imagine the defense would have the defense set to deal with 2 RBs so bigger bodies.
I imagine the McD has made quite the mess in his pants tonight with the thoughts of the matchup nightmares he can create with these new weapons. A potential 5 wide of Diggs, Pop, Gibby, Hendo and Williams or keep the RBs in with those same WRs for extra blockers if you want more time to hit someone on a longer developing route.
Why can he not be an every down back? 5'10 is big enough. He just needs to add 10 pounds or so of muscle.
