DRAFT Welcome to New England, LSU OT Will Campbell

Disagree on Strange. He consistently makes mental errors vs stunts and is often physically over powered.

You can blame coaching for Robinson. I’m not saying give up on him. He deserves another shot. But he sucked last year. That’s what his track record is right now, and there really weren’t many good things he put on tape.

JAndrews started two regular season games and did look good, but most were surprised by that because he sucked in the preseason. He was seen as a reach at the time anyway. Again, not saying give up on him, but hard to have any faith in him now or project him to be good IMO. I hope he surprised me.
I remember reading that Andrews was going to get snagged in the 4th by 3 teams picking after us.

It is amazing how you really have no clue who is even on your team. Lowe was one of the worst tackles in the league last year. If Campbell is just average, that makes us go from 32 to 16 in theory. That is a massive upgrade. If you are trying to claim it won't be, you are just a liar. I didn't through a fit. I just called out your trash. It’s just stupid.
Try to keep up. I said that if he ends up an average tackle long term, he will likely be below average as a rookie because that’s a normal career progression. So that arbitrary #16 number you pulled out of your ass is too high. Going forward, please try to use reading comprehension when your respond. It’s not a race, so you need to take a little longer to digest the words you’re reading it’s ok. It will make for better discussion that way.

We upgraded our Left Tackle let's just start with that

They will contend this year. This will be a playoff team.
They have addressed every hole. They have upgraded half of the starting positions and many backups.
The biggest weakness in the team was OL and we have tried over 4 of the 5 positions (including strange being available at the start of the year).

What weaknesses have not been addressed?
Depth is still an issue at almost every position. As currently constructed we can’t afford injuries to any of our good players.
The other gift Mayo left us is we don’t have first claim post preseason waivers. It’s a good place to get a little depth when you have first choice.
Edit: I know we’ll address this issue with 8 more picks to come, 6 coming in the next 150

I cannot keep up with your trash. Go back to the Jets forum. It is much more fitting for you.

Their receiver room sucks. Their OL still looks bad on paper because Strange/Bradburry have both been below average, aberage at best and Campbell, whatever you think his ceiling is, will likely be well below that as a rookie because most guys don’t come in as rookies at their career best level. Also, as encouraging as Maye was through the lense of a rookie QB taking his lumps, he wasn’t actually good as far as winning games yet.

Their Lbs and safeties can’t cover anyone. Their edge rush looks like close to worst in the NFL again. Their interior DL has no run stopping ability.
They have a 1 in Diggs and a slot in Douglass. They gave Bourne, Hollins and Boutte to fill in 2 and 4 and may draft one tomorrow. It’s much better than last year already.
OL is no longer a weakness. It will be at least average and could be a plus. Strange was playing very well when he was injured in 23 and looked good last year. Bradbury is a solid starter.
The defense is vastly improved. Spillane and Gibbens are better in coverage than any LB we have had recently. And Mapu probably ends up there. LB coverage is above nfl average. The safeties are fine if you don’t have a moron coach putting the 1 on 1 vs WRs
Run D will be fine with Williams, Barmore, white and Tonga.
Sounds like you missed the off season.

A lot of depth will happen in this draft, but we are much deeper than last year. We have added a lot of okayers to the roster

Really love this pick. Kid is athletic and talented, as well as tough, and a leader. Seems like the perfect Patriot to start out the Vrabel era. Not the sexiest pick, but the right pick.

Not worried about his arms, all I care about is that he gave up 2 sacks total the last 2 years, in the best division in college football, against several 1st round NFL talents.

And I hope Ian and every other mindless pajama wearing fanboy enjoys your *********** tonight, because the fall out from this pick is going to be painful.

The Pats won’t be sniffing the playoffs anytime soon, throwing away premium draft picks on good guys that can’t play.

Lmao-what a moron.

The problem with him becoming a guard is that, inevitably, there will be multiple guys drafted after him who end up elite players at more important and scarce positions and it will be a failure that they ended up with a guard instead of one of them.
John Hannah was drafted 4. I’m okay with that pick even if it was a guard. If Campbell arm was one inch longer there would be no debate about this pick He athletically rated the highest of all lineman. He played well against about five DL that went in the first round. Why are we killing this guy before we even see him play? It’s terrible.

I see a lot of people that are negative about this pick. Of course you are entitled to your own opinion. But this did not seem to be a reach to me. Many people had him as the top lineman in the draft. Was their an obvious better OL pick? I do not see it. The Jets new OL is right tackle and triyng to move him to left would be another HUGE risk.

Strange was a huge reach. Polk last year was a reach. Will Campbell is considered a top Lineman (or THE top lineman) and also a top tackle in this draft. If he does not work out so be it every pick is a gamble. But I do not see the negativity towards him.

Gonna be amazing when this young man makes all you douchecanoe, armchair draft experts eat massive plates of rotten *** crow…although none of you will own up to it or admit your wrong. Patriots picked the best f***ing LT in the draft.

Yeah, I'm not ready to concede that the Jets have become geniuses in the draft.

Let me give you a little tip about life. No one really
