Rich Eisen makes a good point. Three from Michigan in the top 15. Zero from Ohio State.

yup, bet no mocks had that run so early...which makes our pick much better in that sense too
Yeah would have been rough. They did well seeing how the draft has played out.

Not really. Just the copium has increased over the years. Tackles are always more valuable than guards. Now if a team is set at both tackles, and badly needs guard help, I could see them drafting a guard. But we've got so many holes and a glaring one at LT. I see why we made the Campbell pick, but obviously he has risk associated with him.

If Campbell pans out at LT great, worth the pick. If we have to move him to guard, this was a big reach. Cole Strange, a guard, should NOT have ever been picked in round 1. And he has done nothing to dispel that assertion.
Yeah, 3 years in the SEC is nothing.
Hannah is the GOAT guard... and even he couldn't effect the outcome of games that much. It's just a fact. Some positions are more valuable. The highest paid guard in the NFL get 23M a year. As much as the 15th highest paid WR.
Have you looked at the Rushing of his teams? May wanna take a peak.

This is the wrong draft to trade up. The difference from #20 and #60 is negligible. We currently have 3 picks on day 2. If anything, we should trade down and hope to gain more pics. We have a lot of holes to fill. Personally, I'm hoping for Noel and/or Higgins and then Thornton in round 4. I'd also like to see us double down at OT with Ersery in 2nd round.
If the most productive edge rusher falls within 10-15 picks you make that call.

ESPN.com available player tracker has Egbuka as 28th ranked remaining player which would put him at 41.
Is there a chance he could be there at 38?

I think he goes around 20.
It’s possible. Even if you take that ranking at face value, WR tends to be a position teams reach for because of his valuable it is. He seems to have some strong fans in the media and it would only take one team to share that enthusiasm.

Great take. PRO left tackles come from COLLEGE left tackles. It’s kinda a thing.

I make the distinction because there have been plenty of examples of college left tackles who FAILED at the PRO level and had to get kicked inside to guard. This is not rocket science, this is just historical fact. This is the big question mark with Campbell. Is he just a good college level tackle who can't handle the position at the Pro level?

Should see Johnson go too before OSU gets their first

Good OL are an endangered species in FA so teams really only have the draft to get them.
Not good linemen, just tackles. Every year all the “top FAs” lists have tons of guards and centers at the top bedside that’s the position teams are most willing to let better players go.

Yeah I’m surprised by that ranking. I think he goes around 20

I think he might fall out of the first round. I saw his injury described as "chronic".

Wasn’t John Hannah picked #4 overall?
You're not seriously comparing Campbell to an all-time HOF player already, are you?

And let's be real the type of football played in 1973 is a lot different than in 2025. Left tackle in is a premium position and worth a top 5 pick in today's NFL. Guard is not.

Campbell needs to pan out as a top tier left tackle or this pick is a Fail. Isaiah Wynn and Cole Strange are two guys we should have never taken in round 1. We need to hope Campbell can be an outlier with his short arms and perform as a high level left tackle to make this pick worth.

I just swallowed a jellybean whole on accident, whoops. Thought I would share.
At least it wasn't a jelly roll
