2025 Draft Rumours (ie The Pinch Of Salt Thread)

Sure sounds like we’re taking Campbell at 4. How would you feel about this? I went by Mel’s Top 150.

2 Mason Taylor - TE - LSU
3 trade up 69 and 4th to 55
Jaylin Noel - WR - Iowa St. Mel has him 56
3 Ozzie Trapilo - T - BC
I would absolutely take that although I agree with Clonamery that we should see a defensive pick somewhere in the top 4 rounds.

I am looking forward to day two more than tonight because I think there are some really good prospects in both round two and three. Round two in particular will be interesting because there'll be some quality prospects falling out of the first. Do we use 38 to pick one of them, use it to get the best iOL like Donovan Jackson or may be Booker/Zabel, or do we get our pick of the round two WRs? And that doesn't include the edge rushers and DTs that will be there. It's a bit of a smorgasbord of choices.

On Unsportsmanlike it was suggested that the Giants might be more interested in getting Mason Graham in a trade swap with the Jags who would conceivably take Abdul Carter and since we seem to be locked in with Will Campbell the Giants aren't worried about us taking Graham.

This would also give them ammo to trade back up into the end of round 1 for Dart/Shadeur.
I think that a trade down by the Giants makes a lot of sense since the FO is pushing hard for a QB,

Not everybody loves what they do.
NIL has changed the landscape, and I think it's important to recognize the love of the game thing you bring up. If a kid has put a few mill in the bank, he may not have the drive to be the best. Or to win. They could be happy with a little bit of money in the bank, especially if that money has come with, essentially, endless ass-kissing on how great that kid has been since he first put on pads. Moving from Saturdays to Sundays is a big deal. The level of competition is much higher. Does a player have the make up to drive and push himself to be the best, or is he simply coasting by on a little bit of money?

Luckily for them, they are at this stage of their lives where you know.. they could just decide to do something else instead of earning milions as a pro football player.

I’d trade down for their 1st next year.

And here I thought I was going to be in bed by 9-9:30 pm.

I've got almost every 2nd round WR other than Higgins in my predict the draft competition so of course Higgins ends up being the pick. I wouldn't be mad about it though.

It's obvious watching the two move, that Tory Horton is a more fluid mover. Quicker, faster, more agile. I'm starting to think I'd take Horton over Higgins if its an outside guy we want. You see the skills, but i definitely buy into Matt Harmon's analysis too. Higgins may be better used as a big slot in the league. So if its a true outside guy, I don't know if Higgins is the way we go.

But I also have no idea how McDaniels and Vrabel will come together on what they want at WR. McDaniels has been quick route runners. AJ Brown and Treylon Burks were more physical, after the catch guys. Neither of those molds is Tory Horton, but Higgins could be the physical, after the catch guy.

Jeanty most likely
If its Jeanty, it has to be with the Patriots. You couldn't get him at 5-7. I dont think it'd be with the Jags, because the rumored guys there seem like they'd be gone come 10. Walker, McMillan, Jeanty, even Graham.

And then you couple that with this and I'm telling you don't be shocked if Dart goes 3!
