All signs point to Campbell. Majority of mocks have him coming here. LT is the only position of major need that weve done nothing to address so I also have a suspicion that is going to be a heavy priority.

Personally id go with graham or try my best to trade down and take my chances with that 38 pick to move up into the simmons/connerly/ersery tier if needed but it sounds like they love Campbell. I don’t love it myself but will embrace it and hope for the best.

Absolutely correct. Go figure save for the 07 spectacular season with moss we never really had top WRs. We always had a top OL and top coaching staples of patriots teams. We've seen when we don't have that how it looks. This draft is about what the patriots need not what they want. We've drafted for need plenty of over years... light, mankins, solder, vollermer, Mac, Drake, gonzo.... and others.

Yeah we’ve really left ourself no choice but to force an LT early. The question is are we better off with Campbell at 4 or the next tier around 30. Im an ersery fan, might not have the highest ceiling but from all Ive heard hes arguably the ‘safest’ LT prospect out there and might require a minimal trade up if anything. This allows us to shoot for someone with actual gamebreaker potential at 4

It's tough. They're so thin at the tackle position that there are too many risks. If Moses gets hurt, Wallace can potentially step in on the right. But they have no one - aside from Lowe - who you can look at and be confident starting on the other. I do like Membou (he actually ran a better 40 than Campbell) but there are no guarantees he can make the change, which complicates things. Sort of feel like they have to take a chance on a player who started there throughout his collegiate career and played well enough to be where he is. Not to mention, he's coming into the league with some added fire, given all the talk that he can't do it, rather than as a guy who everyone talked up all spring.

But right now, they only have three true tackles on the roster (Wallace, Moses, Lowe). I think, as Mike Reiss wrote, I wouldn't be surprised if they take more than one this weekend. They absolutely need the depth.

I think they'll take at least 2, and I think they'll take some IOL guys as well. I would not be shocked if they went with 4 total OL guys. It would be easier to accomplish that with a trade back, but I think they could take Campbell Thursday, one guy Friday and then a couple IOL guys on Day 3. I def look for a trade back at some point to add a R6 pick.

I would take Mason Graham.

I think we'll take Will Campbell.

But I have a sneaky feeling Tetairoa McMillan is still in play. That quote from Vrabel about wanting someone who can haul in off target passes just sticks with me.

I think it’s a trade down and a trade up scenario.
Predict a trade down for Tet, and a trade up for Simmons.

I didn't even realize it until this morning. Based on what I have from @DaBruinz tracking the transactions and checking it against the team's roster, they definitely need to add some quality depth and push some of these names off the roster:

T (4) - Wallace, Moses, Lowe, Jacobs
G (4) - Strange, L.Robinson, Sow, T.Robinson
OL (3) - J.Andrews, Onwenu, W.Schweitzer
C (2) - Brown, Bradbury

Absolutely agree. Vrables and the entire organization knows what we NEED. Being the 32nd ranked last season really made the organization face reality. Furthermore Drake helps an OL out.. he's not going to stand there like a statue and take hits.. we've seen his athletic ability.. it's an OLs dream to have a QB that can break the pocket to take pressure of the tackles. It makes rushers unsure what Drake will do. I'm with you on a game breaker..

I have been beating the Ozzy Trapilo drum to the point I expect a dead horse emoji at some point. I think there's something to that relationship with Scar and Billy O. I think Drew Kendall at BC for the same reasons, plus his Dad played in the league for a long time. I think there's something to them meeting with Jake Majors, and they've had contract with a multitude of guys at the senior bowl. I don't think it's far fetched to look at them and think four OL guys out of nine picks. They need at least one WR, and one EDGE, that's six picks.

I think they've done more than kicked the tires on Campbell and Josh Conerly too. They could trade back and then Conerly is the guy later in R1, or they could stick and pick with Campbell. Then there's guys like Milum, Grant, and Mbow who would all be fine additions to the interior. I just don't think they'll come out of this draft with one or two linemen. They know the guys on the roster either need help or need to be gone.

Or, like everyone else, I am talking out my ass and have no idea what they'll do.

The Ozzy Trapilo thought is something I had looked at as well when I looked at that second tier of players. He's a good player, and I feel like we've had pretty good luck with the guys who have come out of that program. He's also huge (6'8"), so he's certainly got the size, and while I don't remember the exact numbers, I think he also tested relatively well at the combine.

For all we know, they think he's a starter in the NFL. They'll certainly have a well informed opinion on the player. Same with Kendall. Is there a chance he's their guy in R2 and they take a skill player in R1?

It's possible, and I think if they trade down, maybe that's a sign they're going that route. I think the one question I have is how they really feel about Carter, and whether or not they'd pass on him and take a deal from another team if he fell to #4. If they have any hope of getting any real haul for that pick, that would probably be the lone scenario if someone was truly in love with him.

100% they will trade down to snag another pick. They difference between the talent at 4 and 15 isn't much in this draft (thanks Mayo/Milton). Campbell might not be available at 15, but someone close enough will. It's not like it's a lock he's the class of draft. Trade down. This team is rebuilding.

There are weaknesses which lose games, and then there are weaknesses that can take out the franchise QB. Their line sucks. Strange can be competent, but he's going to be out for the season by game 4. They need to be bold. I like the plan.

I wouild prefer them trading back a few spots to get Tyler Warren and trade back into the first to get Josh Simmons or Kelvin Banks Running with 3 good tight ends give us a young stud in waiting, help on the blocking and open up the middle of the field...

I think if we trade down , we might end up losing membou, Campbell, Warren and possibly Tet. Then we end up overdrafting a guy in 20s for 12. If we can trade back with raiders and swap their 2nd for our 4th that would be great.

Warren or Tet and a tackle
I forced myself to watch more Tet tape I think he does have a lot of Mike Evans in his game.

However I would be just as happy with Warren or a trade for a vet WR.
