NFL Draft Talk

I didn’t realize that the college season started in June.

Weird flex-by-proxy when most college athletes would fully recover from April surgery for a season opener in late August. Talk about twisting yourself into a pretzel to support one of your binkies.
One of whose binkies?…

Yup, his Fr. year, not counting the Southern U. game he played against 72.7% of NFL players, whether current or future. And top 3 to 4 round players at that.
It was similar in 2023 but dropped off a little this year as they didn’t play Georgia and the Alabama edge talent wasn’t their usual elite level.

Of course there’s a big difference between the two leagues but it’s like that for every player. All of the best young OT’s all had struggles in their rookie season but look at them now. They learned on the fly and got better because of it. He’ll make adjustments and adapt. He’s just too good not to. Some fail and his shorter arms are a real concern but I see him being a legit LT for a long time.
Why are you excluding a game? So by your own numbers your still not at %75. Add in that other game and your less than %72 by your own numbers. And I just don't believe there are that many DLs who made the pros for such a big number.

Because it’s not a real game. It’s a 65-7 blowout, more like second stringers get the playing time. It’s a schedule filler game against a JV team. So if you want to count a game against Southern University on par with SMU, New Mexico and UAB to make the math to your liking so be it.

Edit: and I just threw out a number just by looking at the teams, without doing the actual math. And guess what (73%), I was pretty fkn close

I thought the reps against verse were tough to watch if you want to justify the Campbell pick
I have watched him against Jackson (Arkansas) and turner too
I just believe Campbell is not dominate enough in college that makes me think he will be an above average nfl tackle
The game against Verse was literally Campbell’s first college game, 18:years old early September.

It's not that I think the games on par with better teams it that my point was that even big SEC teams play games vs these tiny schools too. Good to know you were just throwing out numbers because something seemed way off.

I don’t know what math you use but way off is not correct math. Your “tiny percentage” math quote seemed (more) way off than mine. Just drop it. It’s now a moot point to me.

The issue I have with that list is only Anderson and Verse have proven to be good NFL pass rushers, yeah some of the guys are not in the NFL yet but the others in the list have no more than 3 sacks in an NFL season. Just because they were good in college does not mean they equate to actual NFL pass rushers week in and week out.

Thought Anderson was the clear winner in their matchup and thought Verse also got the better of him overall but not as dominating as Anderson. Those are the only 2 guys on that list I can say are proven good pass rushers in the NFL so just hard to tell how he will hold up facing those types of guys every other week at worst.

Lots to like about Campbell but IMO a great guard and mediocre LT. I think we are going to see as he'll likely be the pick.

18 year old Will Campbell.

I like
Campbell but this would be an awful
Move.

You’re moving the bar. This started out that Campbell “ only faced a few NFLpass rushers,” and when it turns out it’s over 70% it becomes “ he only faced a few really good nfl pass rushers.” The bottom line is that he faced the best defenses and pass rushers by playing in the SEC. People are just desperate to tear this kid down,

Interesting note on Membou, it turns out that Missouri ran sets where they had Membou line up as aTE on running plays to the left. He’s a frigging steamroller unblocking. He puts people on the ground.

Not true, I just looked at the teams he played and tried to find top pass rushers and then looked at the tape.
He didn't face over 70% NFL pass rushers, not even sure what you're talking about there.

It is what it is, he hasn't played against a ton of top pass rushers, and the best he's faced have gotten the best of him more often than you would like.

He has a lot of positives, and I think he's probably an OK LT which will be a big upgrade and POSSIBLY with good coaching he can become a top 10 LT. However, there are some things that lend more doubt to that scenario than you would like, which are somewhat offset by the fact he'd likely make an excellent guard.

The fact he was in the SEC, the fact he allowed only x number of sacks etc. is not that meaningful when he didn't line up against top pass rushers as often as you would think.

Evan Neal allowed 5 sacks and 22 hurries in 3 years playing at Alabama. Campbell 4 sacks and 32 hurries in 3 years at LSU. Not very meaningful in itself.

Not tearing the kid down, just stating what is on tape. I think he's almost guaranteed to be a very good NFL lineman, maybe at guard though. He's basically as close to a sure thing in that regard as you can find which is why I'd probably draft him over the other tackle options. Just being realistic that he may not be great at LT.

Boris man listed a bunch of guys he’s faced, and said the number was over 70% of nfl players, including guys clearly going in this draft. And, once again, I think people are trying to tear this kid down, when the only thing they can name is that he has shorter arms than desirable. The fact is that he only allowed 4 sacks total , and 1.5 pressures a game in 2034, so the idea that he “ struggled” is ********, otherwise the pressure numbers would be much higher.
