I think we are all hoping that the Giants or Browns take Sanders, thus allowing Hunter or Carter (more likely) to fall to 4. Right now it appears that Cam Ward will go first to the Titans and Hunter second to the Browns.

So this leaves the Giants in a quandary. Should they fill a need and reach for Sanders or should they take the BPA in Carter? There is a third option that I would do if I were the Giants; use Carter to trade down and pick up Sanders later. It seems obvious to me, but I am not an expert. What do you think?

I don't know about the Giants ownership these days, but for years starting with Wellington Mara (except the Tim Mara years), they wasted their first round picks. Do they have meddling owners again? From what I have read, it seems that way. I certainly hope so and I hope they pick Sanders.

The Giants signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in the offseason. As incompetent as their ownership/management has been the last few years, I don't see them reaching for Sanders at #3 in this draft.

As for them trading down, sure, that's a possibility - but that doesn't matter. From the Patriots' perspective the result would still be the same: Hunter and Carter will be both be gone by the time the Pats are on the clock, unfortunately.

My solution was Patriots trade up with the Browns or the Giants.

Imagine The Giants selling yes they drafted Sanders but moved down 1 spot and got a extra third or I hope not but a Second or a extra pick next season as well.

We are def greatly impacted by the Browns and Giants decisions.
Unless we are content on grabbing a game breaking RB, our choice of Tackle. Adding the second pass rusher on our board or trading down for more picks.

The draft will be entertaining very much so way.

I have always been a follow the course guy and hoped for the Pats to stay @ the 4th draft slot and build for tomorrow.

The AJB rumors puts the Pats in a win now position IMO. That means Playoffs assuming NE fixes the OL and fills a few other needs.

In drafts, he likes to trade down. In relationships, he prefers to trade up…
Somehow that whole affair is flying in Carolina.

BB's girl must be stirring up drama amongst the other wives and girlfriends with some of her outfits.

Oh please let them trade away the chance at Carter so they can get Sanders. Then please let it create a fever pitch for pick 4 where desperate teams that thought Sanders was going to fall now have to trade up for him and we get the haul no one expected.

The Hard Knocks video would be gold.

Another unfortunate scenario? Isn't this the same unfortunate scenario that's currently being (ahem) discussed?

Thursday can not get here fast enough. Fred and Sam need new stuff to whine about

I think it's pretty obvious that the top 3 are going to be Ward then Hunter/Carter in some order.

We knew this was the most likely scenario for a long time.

The unfortunate thing for us is that this IS a good draft for the depth and once you get past 15 there's a ton of guys that are really solid for the 15- 70 imo. It's just we are at a spot where we really want to be able to say we came away with an S tier level talent and it goes quickly from S to B+ level prospects who have some serious question marks

Giants are kinds stuck if Hunter goes #2 (like it sort of looks like right now, unless Cleveland takes Sanders, which will be shocking). Sanders would make a ton of sense, because he could absolutely sit a year, and learn behind a couple of real pros, and would actually be a really good situation for them. It isn't a no-brainer they take Carter, they've already got a good bit of money invested in Brian Burns and Kavon Thibedoux. already. It would be a tough ask to draft yet another pass rusher in the top 5, and have him be a 15-snap rotational guy.

Been saying this for weeks, try to trade up to 2. Then we are guaranteed Hunter, a franchise changing player.

Trading up to 2 would involve losing our first round pick next year. The Patriots just aren't good enough to do that. If they were a WR away from contention, then I'd be all for it. But unless Hunter can play left tackle, along with corner and wr, it's just not worth 2 first round picks.

As usual, there will be that unfortunate highly talented player that gets picked by a bad organization where he rots. He will just be playing for his next contract.

I don't know why the Eagles would do this, but the Pats would easily be set up for a playoff birth at worst. If not, the panic button would be hit on Maye.

If they choose Sanders BB will be the next NY Giants HC/GM in a couple of years.
Yeah because they didn't want a 72 Year old BB last year but will want a 75 year old BB in a couple of years.

The combination of Wilson and Winston could win 9-11 games or they could win 4. The Steelers need to figure out their long-term QB solution, but are probably gunshy since Pickett. If they don't think Sanders is the long-term solution, they can afford to punt until next year.

Any team that had Russell Wilson and jameis Winston as their QBs last year would be looking to draft a qb this year. Having bad QBs on one year deals is not a thing to prevent you from drafting a qb.
