A friend told me that pretty much any place that makes you show an ID is quite likely to have a camera also doing facial recognition with or without your consent, because they don't trust their employees to actually check the ID to match the person. Border control now uses it routinely. We are rapidly sliding down the slippery slope.

Look to China, they're further ahead of it than we are... they don't have to deal with that "democracy" thing. But we came really close when a bunch of people here were pushing "vaccine passports" and calling to lock up people who didn't comply... that was just a power grab.

Want to see something scary, look for the video of AI targeting systems... they work hyper fast and hit right between the eyes on every shot. Now attach that gun and targeting system to one of General Dynamics robot dogs and you see the future. The Terminator wasn't just a movie, it was a cautionary tale.

Saw this documentary about AI and they had an elite Air Force pilot go against AI opponents in a simulator and the AI did not lose. It's targeting was like you said, always on target, never missing. The Air Force dude didn't even hit it. The thing about AI is that it fears nothing and doesn't know self preservation in these situations so it is always doing whatever its goal is, in this case, kill the other guy.

It also gives Apple - and many of the companies who produce various apps - everywhere you are, everything you said and everything you did.

This country is already down that slope. People are being grabbed off the street without pretext.
