That's fine, I don't think he's a HoF guy either.I’m just not sold on Carter. He’s coming off multiple injuries, and he has character red flags. And I don’t think he’s Micah Parsons.
Yeah, I agree. I think the tax on that move is multiple 1's with AJ Brown. 2026 R1, maybe a R3, either this year or next. That's a huge drop.the eagles 2nd rounder is ONE pick from being a 3rd rounder. I would NEVER do that deal. Moving from 32nd to #4 would require a WHOLE lot more than a 32nd pick in the first and 2nd round plus Brown.
Eagles first rounder next year may be 32Using the little trade calculator
Patriots get
#32
Eagles first round pick next year
AJ Brown
Eagles get
#4
It still SLIGHTLY favors the Eagles

I think they'll receive offers on Carter and Hunter if they are there, but to drop to 32 and then just think you can wave a magic wand and trade back to 15 or something.... I dunno man. You call Atlanta at 15 and they say they are sticking and taking Egbuka. You call Arizona and they say they are sticking and taking Simmons. You call the Bengals and they say they are sticking and taking Walter Nolan. Now you're high teens, and you're still having to give up 32 and 38 because of tax to move back in... I just don't like it. If you drop out at #4, you best have a scenario to pick at whatever position you drop to, there's no rule that you have to be able to trade back up.
The Pats GM should be fired if rejected this trade. A pick swap in a weak draft for one of the best WR's in the league when the Pats have had the worst WR groups since 2019 plus an additional 1st round pick.Using the little trade calculator

At best, Douglas should be used exclusively as a KR/PR.I’d much rather have Boutee in the slot. Watch his college and pro tape. The dude thrives in the slot. I just don’t see the fantasy that is Douglas. He doesn’t even pass the simple eye test for me.
Take it FWIW, Fitzy says his source told him that if Abdul Carter is available at 4 that the Eagles will call the Patriots and offer AJ Brown and pick(s) to trade up for Carter. He said the Eagles would really want Carter.
I say this is unlikely since the Eagles are selecting 32. It would take more than Brown and the 32nd pick to get to #4. I would definitely consider it if they are offering that and more. The Pats could then trade up and get Simmons.
Boutte skill set and body type is not that of a premier slot WR. Pop is.. he's quicker, shifter, had great hands and can separate from defenders. Pop will thrive under Josh.At best, Douglas should be used exclusively as a KR/PR.

Right. But Boutte excells on deep post and he has big play abilities. I see your point on the players you mentioned. However not against Boutte in the slot but imo he's better utilized as a post, intermediate, sideline catch player. Pop and his skill set it best in the slot. Just my opinion. Go back to drake's first start he unlocked pop in the slot and Boutte on deep post plays. Same for Boutte in the Jacksonville game and in the Buffalo game. All 3 plays went for TDs.The whole idea that slot players are smaller players is an outdated theory. Many of the best slot players today are normal sized WR’s. Think Puka, Cupp, McConkey. All those guys have similar body types and athleticism, including Boutee. Slot only players just don’t cut it anymore. You need players who can move all around each and every play. Something Boutee CAN do and Douglass can’t.
I heard prior to the SB that AJ Brown is the best in the NFL at defeating Man coverage. The Pats GM should be fired if rejected this trade. A pick swap in a weak draft for one of the best WR's in the league when the Pats have had the worst WR groups since 2019 plus an additional 1st round pick.
