Patriots Player Departure BREAKING: Joe Milton traded to Dallas

Fun strolls down memory lane from twelve months ago:

a real men of genius moment right there if i do say so myself

Garoppolo got traded because he was 3 months away from being a UFA so at that point anything NE could get was a bonus.

As for Milton.... I respect his confidence. It's just too bad he doesn't have the talent to back it up.

The jury on Milton is still out, but he sure don’t lack the athleticism or arm strength

I also remember that not all Pats fans were Brady believers over Bledsoe to start the Super Bowl vs the Rams

I do not agree with this view that they preferred Bledsoe, but there were people saying it

If you want to die on the hill that Milton is the next Brady, you go ahead and do that.

I'll stand by the idea that he is more Brisette than Brady.

Everyone including me love Brady, but Seth Wickersham & others wrote that Garoppalo got traded because Tom didn’t want competition
As already pointed out, he was about to be a FA and Brady forced the Pats hand to get rid of him.

I didn’t think Tom was going to be healthy enough to play. Although I was a Bledsoe guy, it would’ve been a Rob Johnson over Flutie situation all over again.

It does not bode well for us that Milton was traded because he wanted a chance to be the starter. So, our new QB draft pick will be based on the fact that he must bend a knee to Maye.

This is a unique year. I am hoping that the trade was based on Vrabel knowing what they have in Milton and seeing no risk in eliminating a distraction. If the demand came from Maye, I agree that it is not a good sign for the future.

.
Is this still breaking .... asking for a friend.

All the people that fall in love with guys that can run fast and throw far remind me of how everyone reacted to seeing Pedro Serrano hit fastballs.

I wonder which developmental QB the Pats will take this time and how long before his stans tell us he's the next Brady because he was drafted late. Happened with Mallett, Stidham, Zappe and Milton why stop now.

I'd say it bodes less well for Milton himself than the Patriots. Milton is 25 years old and yet he's still a project and nothing more, which is exactly what he was when he was drafted. He knows he ought to be entering his prime now and the clock his ticking on his window of opportunity to start in the NFL.

Maybe, but did you pick Brady over Bledsoe after Bledsoe won the AFC championship game vs Steelers

I honestly don’t know your stance, but it is a much more honest question

That is a legit honest answer I can respect

I am a charter member of Brady's Ladies. I was on the usenet alt.sports.pro.football.ne-partiots arguing for Brady to continue starting over Bledsoe once he got healthy.

That said, he's still younger than Tyler Shough. . . .
