Drake Maye doesn't pat the ball before every throw either so what is your point then. I just watched the first 6 throws of his highlight video, 1 ball tap, on the TD to Boutte beating Stingley. Stingley is all pro level and somehow didn't jump that on the ball tap? So 16.67% of the time he ball tapped in the first 6 throws, I don't think I need to watch anymore.
It's OK for great players to pat the ball sometimes, like Maye does, but not OK for Maye because CB's somehow are looking at the QB for a tap? I'd tap the ball 6 times, so my wr can run by him while he's staring at the QB.
Dan Marino did it more than anyone yet somehow is in the hall of fame.
This is a complete 100% non-issue.
