A lot of people have suggested that we trade down, but if Carter and Hunter are gone, I don't see how this is possible? Which team in their right minds is going to trade up for, say, Campbell.

If Hunter is gone and Carter is available at 4, then trade down and get a boatload of picks. This roster cannot be fixed with a single pass rusher.

If Hunter is available, entertain offers, but I think that in the end you should take him.

If Hunter and Carter are gone, then good luck finding a trade partner. You will, alas, have to take Campbell who seems like a safe but unspectacular pick. This seems like the most likely scenario. Why the heck did the Patriots beat the Bill?????
Have you ever seen Carter play. Milton Williams is a physical freak, and will most likely play mostly inside, Landry will help the pass rush, the new linebackers add tackling machines. But adding Abdul Carter to this defense boosts this defense to an extremely high level. The pass rush will be excellent and that helps our good corners.

You DON’T pass on Abdul Carter at 4 if he’s there, he’s either the best player or 2nd best player in the draft.

No moaners yet, but they will arrive soon I'm sure

I have Mack Hollins as a lock too, due to his contract.

Current lock %

Diggs 100%
Hollins 100% (basically his entire first year is already paid for
Boutte 99% (super cheap deal, very young with more than slight upside due to his age.. only 22)
Polk 99% (I have never heard of a team giving up on such a high pick due to bad play and no off field stuff after 1 horrible year... it's possible he's cut... but unlikely)
Douglas 95% (Super cheap deal, young <24> with slight upside and is a serviceable depth piece Maye knows)
Bourne 5% (His contract sucks compared to Boutte/Douglas... he is getting up their for a WR and if we draft a guy it will be a numbers game. Cutting him saves 5M)

Since i think we will draft a guy i think Bourne gets the ax as i am very positive we won't hold 7 guys.

The only way i see Douglas gone is if the guy we draft instantly shows he's legit + Either one of Polk gets it or we draft a 2nd WR who also seems ready to go.

The only way i see both Douglas AND Boutte being cut is if Polk gets it and lives up to his pick + we draft 2 guys that also seem like legit NFL threats. But in this case we are also potentially likely to hold 7 just to see how it turns out by mid season...
I think you’re on the money here. I think if the guys who were here already don’t grasp JMcDs plan, they’ll be out. Diggs and Hollins are making the squad, and will be out there week 1, barring injury status. Any draftees taken R4 or better will make the team. So if they end up with Higgins/Royal/Restrepo or other, those guys are in as well. Bourne, Boutte, Douglas, Polk an Baker will be fighting for ways to get on the field. Baker especially needs to learn how to cover kicks and make himself stick somehow.

I think Josh's new offense will look a different because he has evolved as a coach and is open to new concepts and ideas but we will still some of the old because it was effective. Will be interested to see if Bourne sticks around and how his production looks.
I'd like KB to be here.. he's a great locker room guy, he brings energetic vibes to the offense and he and Drake have a great relationship. You always want those guys to stick around. I agree with you.. evolving and seeing what's happening around the league and then taking what Drake did last season.. what's so dam impressive with Drake is the guy never cracks under pressure.

I'm feeling like week 1:

Diggs
Boutte
Pop
KB*
Hollins
Polk
Baker

They are childish.
They can be. They can also be playful, clever and evocative.

They are asinine.

Again, they can be. Yet the use of asinine humor can in itself convey an intelligent riposte to an asinine initial post. As in, I saw that and thought this...

They are an alternative to actual thought followed by actual expression.

I would submit the intellectual exercise that goes into selecting a gif involves an actual thought, one that provides a concise expression of a mindset. In fact by reaching into the vast grab bag that is pop culture and coming up with something that instantly imparts understanding in a large portion of the folks viewing it the poster achieves no small intellectual accomplishment. They have quickly gotten their idea across and done it in a way that can amuse, inform and entertain. One could argue that viewed in that light, gifs are a fairly proficient method of communicating.

As an example this...

...is far more evocative to anyone viewing it than posting...

Which 4 are actually playing in the Game?

Safe to say that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

The roster locks (or near locks):

Diggs (X/Z/Slot): Roster lock
Hollins (X): Roster lock
Douglas (Slot): 80% locked

After that I think all of these guys are battling for 2 or 3 spots, with potential for draftees to be added too:

Bourne (Z): bit older, less effective post injury, but knows the offense, good character
Boutte (X/Z): produced OK last year but was a ghost in similar offense in year 1 under BOB
Polk (Z/Slot): can be used more naturally this year, will he pick up offense? Probably still has decent trade value
Baker (X): IMO, worth keeping around at back-end and developing as he has talent to (eventually) be pretty good; could just as easily be cut
Mac Hollins Best year as a Pro came under Josh McDaniels: he's been literally A 250 yds a year guy. I expected more from Javon Baker will be watching him in TC.

Unfortunately, with the Giants signing Russell Wilson, we will miss out on Hunter. Unless we trade up. Would love to see Hunter and Diggs together though.
That is simply not true. Wilson is 2/3 cooked and was signed to a one year stopgap deal. If they pass on Sanders (assuming that Cleveland does not take him), it will be because they don't love Sanders as a player and not because Wilson is on the roster in 2025.
In addition to what Schefty said yesterday, the fact that the Giants followed Sanders so closely during the season and have continued to follow him closely in the off-season is a strong indication he is still a possibility for them. If the report that they attended every one of his games is correct, they had plenty of opportunity to write him off before the pre-draft process started.

It may have been dismissed by some at the time but Sanders is wearing NYG cleats late in the season was significant income in my opinion. It didn't come out of nowhere. If he and papa weren't getting positive vibes from the Giants, Sanders would be running the risk of looking like an absolute fool, if they bypassed him. At that point, the Giants still were in line to pick at 1 and nobody is dumb enough to think that wearing a team's cleats will make them more likely to draft you.

In my opinion, some teams put too much stock in the pro days and individual workouts (see Wilson, Zach and Lance, Trey) but his performance at the Colorado showcase next week and in his individual workouts with Cleveland and New York will likely be critical to his chances to 2 or 3.

You pick em... I'm sure Josh is waiting for you expertise
No, you're the Genius putting 7 WRs on the Roster Week 1 (before the Draft). Pick the 4 that play in the Game.

Not enough room in the Inn twin: IF Bourne outplays Baker and Polk them more power to him: and doom on them. Fun fact both Mack Hollins and Kendrick Bourne had their Best Pro Years Statistically under McDaniels Hmmmmm.

Giants are really throwing $h!t at the wall hoping something sticks a @ QB.

I hate to say this, but I was not impressed with the highlights I saw of Carter. He is not the next Lawrence Taylor. I saw a lot of sacks, but he had wide open lanes to rush through.....now that being said I only saw a few minutes of him. Maybe he can indeed run over guys, maybe he can shed blocks, maybe he is stout against the run, maybe he can wreck game plans, etc. I am not sure,

Howerver....

What I saw of Hunter leaves no doubt that this is a blue chip guy. He has incredible agility, hands, and quickness.....
No one is the next Taylor. I’ve watched a lot of Carters games the last couple years but the game that sold me was I believe the playoff game against Notre Dame when he basically was playing with only one arm and was still getting the best of Notre Dames Offensive Tackle and disrupting plays.

I think that has merit, though at the same time Hollins has also played for Josh, and Diggs played for Daboll in Buffalo so there's probably some crossover. Douglas and Boutte played year 1 under BOB. Douglas was effective; Boutte was a ghost.
Yea but Boutte came on last year w/ Maye. The kid needs targets hes comfortable with.

No I want your expertise. Unless you believe only 4 WR should be on the roster? How dare me! Putting 7 WR'S up..
