It depends on which Cam they get. If they get the Vikings’ Cam, they didn’t gain much. If it’s the Jaguars’ Cam, they got a great deal.

Seems clear Marrone/Vrabel didn't want the guy... or wanted much more to be put into incentives. I'd be curious if they're looking at Tyron Smith, or if they are looking at a lower tier of player like Noteboom, or pushing their chips into LT at pick #4 (or a small trade down).
Or they like the guys they have?

They'll certainly have a relationship with Noteboom at some level.

The brain trust must really dislike cam Robinson. They have coaches with history with him. Gotta believe he's a problem if they could do a 1 year deal for 12 million with 2.5 million more incentives

Smith is even less reliable than i thought he was last year. Maybe the staff sees something in lowe? Who knows

I’m kind of doubting that regarding the LT position.

I am gonna go out on a limb they just didn't want him.

It's interesting to me that the Texans traded Tunsil and his 19 penalty flags and saved 10m for a guy who (supposedly) has questionable effort. Doesn't sound like they necessarily got better, maybe treaded water, saved bank and traded one set of problems for another.

They traded for ed ingram too which sounds kinda the same. Interesting decisions in Houston here lol

The one good thing is that this sets the market again. So if Cam Robinson only gets $12M then that means Smith probably only gets around that, and someone like Noteboom likely only gets $7-8M.

This one's been percolating in my head for a while, once I saw some of those ridiculous contracts go out, and now some of the more reasonable ones.

Noteboom's no all-pro, but he's be a perfectly acceptable seat-filler while they wait a couple years for a youngster to take over.

He's been on my radar too. I have no idea what his level is, but he's gotta be NFL capable.

Nice, that was fast. Due to his injury he likely won't start, and could maybe even start the year on PUP, but as he rounds into form he will be solid depth and maybe challenge for a starting spot as time goes on. At a minimum, he brings knowledge of the defense that he can share in meetings.
He was good in coverage last year although very limited snaps due to injury

Yeah, I posted a few spots up that Robinson only getting $12M means Noteboom probably only needs $8M.

Not sure if this was sarcasm, but I imagine that Marone/McD and Vrabes have watched the tape last year and feel semi confident in what they have. This does not mean they won't obtain anyone else, but as of right now I assume they are comfortable.

Santa left these Rams underperformers lumps of coal on Christmas morning
“His pass-blocking grade of 30.8 from Pro Football Focusis one of the worst grades I have ever seen from a veteran”

Can the Rams trust Joe Noteboom at right tackle?
“Again, Noteboom has been a liability more than a quality sixth-man that the Rams have expected him to be.”

Sounds like the Rams version of Lowe….

He did play in 2 Super Bowls. Again, he's not lighting the world on fire with his play or anything, but he mostly stays away from penalties, and plays a NFL-representative LT.
