Player Signing Patriots sign Center Garrett Bradbury

The guy started 88 games. The Vikings won 14 games with Sam Darnold at qb. Last time I checked Sam wasn't exactly cool hand Luke under pressure. So I'm going to go ahead and assume that he isn't THAT terrible and that he can be coached up.
The **** people ***** about in here never ceases to amaze me...

That’s being very unfair to Sam. Sam only *****es when they don’t sign a player, or when they do sign a player. The rest of the time he’s just unhappy.

1st round pick.

Why did the Vikings bale on him?

He's ONE PLAYER, AT SH!T $.
NOONE here at PatsFans is ever happy unless the guy has AllPro Next to his name.
SORRY you cannot afford "All-Pros" at every spot.
He hasn't even won the job.
What makes this a smart signing is the length of the deal. This is a stopgap signing that puts a band aid on the issue while they find their long term center. These are guys that help in the short run, but their contracts are gone in a year or two, freeing up that cap space. What they don’t want is their bandaids taking up cap space in 27’ and on. Imo that’s why they haven’t made a deal with Robinson, or other LT’s, who are most likely looking for 3-4 year deals.

At this point I don't think we can count Strange as a proven NFL starter.

Based on his rookie year and games before he got hurt his performance was middling.
Beware RW I think clomery is strange agent he may attack you..

The Vikings were paying him peanuts. If he was fine they wouldn’t have ditch him for an older player. He has allowed the most pressure of any center last year.
There you go.

The Vikings are fixing their OL problems by getting rid of Bradbury.

He was really bad. Not as bad as Jacobs or Lowe, but that is a brutal comparison. Brown, Jacobs, and Lowe all have to go.

So far Brown and Jacobs are replaced. Not by superstars, but by average guys.
Just shows the sad state of the roster.. had we drafted better and had better depth we wouldn't be in this situation..

Don’t read too much into this but the Vikes did ok last year so I think he will be ok. Call it scheme, coaching, a proper reverse grip handy, whatever…. Now I’d like to know more about this dude called “Mystery “. Can he play both T? C? Draft like Nike and pull 20 year olds? Oh wait he’s probably going to be in his 20s so that won’t be an issue…

LOL!

To be clear i've got nothing against Strange. Quite frankly hes been dealt a bad hand. His rookie year he gets Matt Patricia and Billy Yates as his position coaches. Despite that going against him he has an "OK" rookie year. 2nd year he has problems but LT and C are a unstable then he blows out his knee/patella.

My point is no one can logically count on him to be a dependable starter at LG. Too many unknowns as he is just as likely to be benched as he would start 17 games.

LOL.. agreed... availability is the best ability a player can have BB said this all the time. Regardless of how the injuries occur your no good to yourself, your team when you not on the field much. He was to your point ok and played decent his rookie season. He has 2 knee injuries in 2023? I know he missed week 4 and then got injured on the KC game that season. I really don't know what the position switch was last season.. as important a position as C is. Setting the protection, adjusting the line and being in sync with the QB..

If strange can be readily available and stay healthy going forward his position needs to be LG he can be serviceable there. Besides we already have a long snapper.

My man, I love me some fit thin women, but I think she pushes it a bit far. Could be anorexic or maybe its just the um..."position"...hey turn off the lights or a paper bag and all could be good.... =D

This at least feels like a clearer picture.
Right now, I think Morgan Moses would start at LT, unless a 1st round draft pick OT beats him out.

I will continue to bang away about LT Kelvin Banks, Jr. from Texas as the pick at #4. He's a top ten draft pick and a major reason why Texas was so successful last year. He's NFL-ready from all that I've watched and a mauler.

The starting line looks to me like:
LT Morgan Moses
LG Cole Strange
C Garrett Bradbury
RG Mike Onwenu
RT Caeden Wallace

Wallace may be in a far better position to play RT in year 2 with Mike Onwenu next to him.

Even Lowe Strange Bradbury Onwenu Moses looks better than last year. Depth is still very iffy but there are a few young options that need time to develop. And Hopefully we can still somehow push Lowe into the depth level as well.
I think 2nd year OT Caeden Wallace will push Vederian "This Way To Drake Maye" Lowe out of the starting lineup and maybe out of town.

I'm certainly not ready to give up on Wallace but I'm also not sure it's best for his development to force him to try left side again. Probably just best to leave him on the right and hope you can groom him to replace Moses. But I suppose a quick try at LT just too see if he can be better than Lowe isn't out of the question.
