Missed the playoffs? Patriots haven’t even come close to making the playoffs in 4 years. Back to back 4-13 seasons!!! Bengals had WINNING records the past 4 years. Who are we to judge?

What makes you think you know how to build a roster?

Patriots have put an unwatchable offense on the field the past 5 years. We have gone 8-27 the past two years. That is putrid.

You can make fun of the way the bengals build a roster, but at least they put a watchable product on the field, and they haven’t had a losing record in 5 years!
A minute ago you were running your mouth about super bowls. Now it's simply watchable?

Maybe. Having a QB like Burrow helps along with the attention being taken away from you with Chase and Higgins.

I think he would have been a different player if he were here in 2019, if you follow my meaning.

Um... yeah... one thing was 4 years ago, the other thing was 7 years ago, not exactly a huge gap in a league with a century of history.

The Bengals have definitely had a better offense in the last few years, and what has it gotten them? Haven't even made the playoffs the last two seasons.
It’s gotten them two winning records and a few defensive players away from another Super Bowl run. You don’t think they are going to stand pat and not address their other issues do you?

Meanwhile the patriots are coming off an 8-27 record the past two years and have done NOTHING to equip our franchise QB. We have zero explosive playmakers or threatening red zone options and our ceiling on offense is quite low.

How do you determine that they are "a few defensive players away from another Super Bowl run" when they haven't even made the playoffs since 2022? Btw, when was their last Super Bowl win?

You have no leg to stand on. You are defending the hapless 4-13 patriots over the bengals who haven’t had a losing season in 5 years! Keep trying to re-arrange the furniture, this point will always stand out.

What do I give a crap if they have a "winning record" if they aren't even making the playoffs? The Bengals have last made the playoffs in 2022; the Patriots have last made the playoffs in 2021. Wowee, I'm so impressed.

You're an idiot. You keep bringing it back to the Patriots, not me. When I point out that indeed the Bengals haven't won ****, you scream YA BUT THE PATS SUCK. Keep your two great WRs. Good luck to you.

Because they have the star talent in premium positions conducive to the modern NFLs style of play. 9-8 is a lot closer to playoff success than 4-13.

Who cares, the patriots dynasty is long gone and that team is never coming back. Time to stop living in the past and adapt or get used to always being in the cellar.

What do the Patriots even have to do with this in the first place?

We are criticizing the Bengals' 2025 team-building philosophy, what does that have to do with recent Patriots output?

After Tet's Pro Day Today... Tee Higgin can go cooks eggs yeah I'm petty.

Because you disagree with any type of team philosophy involving building offensive playermakers for Drake Maye

Meanwhile our anemic record the past 5 years has been a direct result of this philosophy. Ignorance of bringing in elite playmakers for our struggling QBs.

When did I say I don't want them to acquire offensive playmakers for Drake Maye? And even if I did, what does that have to do with this?

Have you been following the Eagles' offseason? The Pats benefitted from them paying Hurts, Smith, and Brown so much because they couldn't afford to re-sign Milton Williams. They also lost Josh Sweat, Mekhi Becton, Oren Burke, and Isaiah Rodgers and traded away C.J. Gardner-Johnson. They gutted their defense and lost their starting RG this offseason.
Did they win a Super Bowl? Asking for a friend.

The implicit message behind your lack of support for the bengals making these moves. if Drake Maye had Chase and Higgins, would you want them retained?

It all goes back to the same thing. Patriots fans always want to pass the buck or kick the can when it comes to the wide receiver position. We could do that with Brady. We can’t with Maye.

No I would not sign both to $70M AAV combined. I'd keep one and trade the other. That's the point

I acknowledged that in another post. They were lucky enough to win a Super Bowl before they had to dismantle their team.

Did the Eagles have a well rounded team with a strong offense and defense while the Bengals have a awful defense and a strong offense? Asking for a friend.

That is the difference between the Bengals and the Eagles. The Eagles matched their strong offense with an even stronger defense. They were a complete team. And even then, they were only able to keep the team together for one Super Bowl.

Bengals generated additional cap space by signing Chase and Higgins. And we have posters on here balking at 3/$45M for Kupp. Completely delusional. Pats currently sitting on the most cap space in the league at $101M, just like last offseason.

The Eagles were loaded, to your point.

That's how the salary cap works bruh. First year cap hits are always low. Let's see what year 4 looks like and/or the void years with big dead money.

NE has so much space still because all their deals did the same thing - low first year hits. Are they first in cap space in 2027 when these bigger hits kick in? Oops, they're like 17th.

We get it, you like offense and want to go hog wild building a team that scores every time they are on the field. You buy the BS the league has been feeding you from fantasy football that stars and scoring are all that matter during a 2 year strech where scoring has actually gone down and the SB champion won it on the strength of thier defense. I dont watch basketball because just needing to watch the last 60 seconds to see who has the ball last sounds boring AF to me.

The 2nd superbowl versus the rams was an amazing game to me, the tension, the back and forth, two great defenses slugging it out where one tiny mistake, one slip up would negate an entire game of excellent football, had me on the edge of my seat. If Jason McCourty was .1 second slower in recognition that game looks very different. When people say that was the most boring SB ever i dont have a clue defuq they talking about.

You talk about an unwatchable product the past 5 years when Mac Jones rookie year they put up 50 3 or 4 times. I'll grant you the past two years have been putrid production wise but Maye made it watchable last year. To me the Bengals are just as unwatchable. I would be throwing things in my living room if every time my team scored i just knew the other team was going to score too. Scoring 35 is great but doesnt mean **** if the other team scores 38. Josh Allen is great and went on an unbelievable 2 min drive to win the game, except the defense couldnt do its damn job for 13 seconds. How would you feel at the end of that game if you were a Bill's fan? Grateful you have Allen or pissed at your D? I know my priority the next offseason is fixing the defense not getting Josh more weapons
