Better hope that a big trade is coming at WR. I don’t know why this front office drafted Drake Maye if they hate him that much.
Our WRs are #4s at best, the OL is still a mess but on the bright side the TE are decent.
I still don’t think the offense will be much improved from last year.
You're the same sort that claimed that the likes of Patten, Branch, Brown, and Givens were all #4 type receivers. Yet the Pats won 3 SBs with them.
Boutte is an adequate #2 and is still improving. Pop Douglas is an excellent slot receiver. The Pats have 2 very good TEs in Henry and Hooper. When Healthy, Bourne is a Capable #2 type receiver. We don't know what they have in Polk and Baker because of the garbage coaching they got. Mack Hollins is the only TRUE #4/#5 WR type. His track record shows that he's not that good.
While Moses is long in the tooth, he's a very solid RT. Even on a crappy Jets team last year. Putting him next to Onwenu should solidify the right side of the line. The only reason I didn't have him on my list was because of Age.
The Pats have questions at LT, LG, and OC. A lot depends on what the Pats do with Strange. Do they let him compete for the OC position? Do they move him back to LG? Or do they move him to LT because he's got the same measurements as Matt Light (though longer arms) but better athleticism.
Lowe took too many penalties at LT last year. He also gave up too many pressures (sacks/hits/hurries). But he in the same realm as Cam Robinson and Dan Moore in terms of pressures. Guys that people on this board clamored about. I have no idea if Lowe will do better with Marrone as his coach. He can definitely be upgraded upon.
Contrary to certain people on this board, Sidy Sow actually played very well as a rookie at LG. Many hoped that he'd take over last year while Strange was on the IR. That didn't happen. Instead, we were saddled with the garbage play of Layden Robinson, Nick Leverett, and Michael Jordan.
As fans, we don't know how much of the garbage we saw on the Offense was because of the Bad Coaching Staff and how much of it was the players themselves. How much of what we saw was the Pats trying to implement more of the Shanahan Outside Zone system despite having players who have skill sets more in-line with straight man-blocking or the standard zone blocking.
It certainly didn't help that Mayo/Wolf didn't seem to understand how to build a team. Even in BBs worst year, he never had 32 O-Line come through the door. Considering how important continuity for the O-line, that sort of turnover definitely didn't help matters. The injuries also didn't help matters. With Strange starting the year injured, then loosing Wallace and Andrews for the season.
