Player Signing OL Wes Schweitzer Signs With Patriots

31 year old from the Jets. Only played 1 snap last year. 6' 4", 300lbs.

Two OL's from the Jets? Who were knocked for having a bad OL last year??

But, this seams like the vet LG we're hoping for. He played LG most of his career early. But played all over, including Center and LT. Not bad to have a veteran versatile guy. I hope he's not the presumed answer though!

We would prefer a Tackle.

I'd like someone better to help out our potential rookie LT.

Good signing... he is a vet and has been around the league. has experience at Center, RG and LG... Seems like a good choice to be a 7th or 8th game day OL man on the surface. Not a blockbuster signing... but this is something they needed. Backing up 3 spots is certainly valuable.

Clearly the G2 on this signing is coming from Scott Turner who was at the NYJ who was Vrabes o-line coach in TN. Same for Moses.

To borrow from Doctor Who, still not a ginger left tackle.

Injury history from last couple of seasons is not too promising.

Vrabes all but told us they would do this. He mentioned bringing in plenty of “opportunity” guys like he was. When you do that, you need volume as the hit rate won’t be high.

Know nothing about the guy but I do know unknowns have played decent guard in the NFL.

Now, left tackle….not so much.

At the moment, they are locked into drafting LT and WR.

While we are raiding the Jets OL does Tyron Smith have the plague??

Most likely a depth OL. Won't start but can backup both guard spots and center.
We seem very Guard and Center Heavy. Really concerned about Siddy Soso.

And i know we all want Tackle help, but it isn't like we didn't need someone like to to compete for this spot. So i will not say 'boo! not a tackle!' I will boo if we don't sign a decent one before the draft though... cause i don't want a rookie LT. I don't want to be in the position of Hunter or Carter being on the board... and us feeling like we need to pick an OT or risk Maye getting destroyed.
