Vrabel wants to copy Philly's defense or Barmore is done. I really hope Barmore's gets passed the blood clots and can return to football. Williams and Barmore would feed off each other.

Love the philosophy of signing defensive players. Shows me that, as much as they WANT to build around Maye on offense, they're putting their money towards the players that make sense. The crop of defensive FAs is much better than offense this year. It is what it is. Signing good defensive players is better than not as good offensive players over the long haul. It's not all going to be fixed in 1 year.

Yep. Simple, investing on the market as it is, not as they wish it to be. Which means mostly defense in FA. They can later balance things in the draft.

Yep. Simple, investing on the market as it is, not as they wish it to be. Which means mostly defense in FA. They can later balance things in the draft.

I'd carry the same principles over to the draft even. If it dictates you go further on defense, then so be it. Rookies are going to be signing 4 year deals. By the time we get to their next contracts, all the defensive FAs we've signed so far might be gone. They shouldn't be building for this year specifically where they have to check all the boxes. It's going to be multiple offseasons before they really have it all built in their philosophy across the board. The best thing they can do is just maximize every draft pick and every dollar spend towards that across the board. it might very well mean that the offense sucks again next year but the defense is close to finished.
