Dj reed or Carlton Davis. Who is better?
I think its reed
Might be but he’s small, NE now has two big on the perimeter. Gonzo obviously can lock up inside to but yeah size was a factor you have to imagine.

Yes! Or via the draft, guessing we are drafting at least 1 DL and 1 edge. If we indeed miss out on milton we can still field a very good defense.
He'd be a lesser cost option to add talent and depth.

I'm not hyping Lowe. He was bottom 5 in terms of LTs last season. But he DID improve over the previous season. Not sure if he will improve more. But do believe the Pats should look to upgrade him.

With the Moses signing, the Pats have a BUNCH of OTs. It's going to be interesting to see what shakes out.
Lowe actually was as good as Cam Robinson in pass protection, at end of year was actually better. He improves again you could have a good enough pass blocking LT. However, his run blocking is terrible and don't think they can live with that. Cam Robinson might not be much better pass blocking, but he is much better run blocking.

Whos he? The detroit dl? If so t Williams being our dc could be a draw there

Marrone knows Robinson, too.

Landry - $15M AAV
Spillane - $12.5M AAV
Davis - $20M AAV
Moses - $8M AAV
Hooper - $5M (one year)
Godchaux trade - gain of ~$1M cap space

If we assume that the first year cap hits for these deals will be roughly 1/3 of their AAV each, that is:
Landry - $5M cap hit
Spillane - $4M cap hit
Davis - $7M cap hit
Moses - $3M cap hit
Hooper - $5M cap hit (one year)
Godchaux - (+$1M cap space)

Totals out to $23M in cap commitments. Pats most likely still have around $100M in space left.

I'm sure its been put in this thread already, but I'm seeing the word "Signed" in alot of message subjects...no one is signing today, it is all negotiations. Nothing is final until Wednesday.
I believe over the last 10 years there have been something like 2 players who balked out of contracts agreed to during the tampering period. I know one involved the Ravens.

Yeah, it definitely happens, but not very often.

The only other thing I would add to this is that there are only a handful of states in the NFL when it comes to no income tax, very few.

So the difference between Mass. and most NFL states is something on the order of 10% MA (5% for the first million) to 4-8%. Some cities have additional income taxes as well (when I lived in State College PA working as a TA, it sucked to see the local township tax my income at a 5% rate, so they took $300 of my $6k annual salary, while I paid $0 to the state of PA and the federal gov't.).
We're in the 20-22 range of worst tax states for a big earner, not the worst. Calif-NY-NJ are clearly worse (6 teams). Some of the upper midwest teams and MD are right with MA or a little worse. Then there's probably another half dozen where it would cost a little more but not that material. We can't compete with any state that has a 0% state income tax rate, like FL or Washington.

Jerick Wills

Jedrick Wills is still out there and Vrabel is familiar with him being at Cleveland
His name was thrown around last year.
Or maybe our LT position isn’t as bad as we think?

Maybe our staff sees something to easily correct on the tape.
