We sure could. Hell, kick Big Mike to RT and if Shaq wins the TC job but then concedes it to a rookie so be it.
I think what ever we do at the other 4 spots big Mike should stay at RG. He/we can't afford to watch him struggle bouncing between the 2 spots again. Right now he's the only piece we can have any faith in on our OL and even he struggled last year.

I'm fine with that. Hes more than functional at both but RG is the preferred position.

Leave Mike at RG, that is his best position......just get guys who play positions you need, stop trying to force moves.
Overall agree. Because Mike plays well at RT it at least gives us some flexibility but RG is where he should be.

My biggest beef with Mayo was his handling of the oline. he had guys bouncing all over the place. you never know who the hell was on the left or right side of you.

Career Earnings: $62,304,200

not a bad career
Still pissed at that trade. Pats got good rookie years out of him and then signed him to a very friendly contract just to send him away for scraps. Made no sense.

Based on what we heard about Mayos coaching I highly doubt he had any say on what Oline were starting where and when:

That was AVP and I will venture to guess Peter’s sole discretion.

Onwenu at RT shouldn’t be a consideration. He isn’t effective there and playing him there is making him worse at RG.

The Texans major need this offseason is OL, so releasing Shaw Mason indicates he was part of the problem, and not a solution. Loved him when he was here, don’t want him now.

Scar has remarked that OL continuity is critical. Except for injuries, your starting 5 on the OL need to gel to be at their best.

The boss is the boss. continuity is not a new concept. The time to experiment is in camp. Now a 3 game preseason certainly did have an effect on trying to put together a cohesive oline.

We could use a reserve.

He's a Right Guard-Only with ZERO position flexibility,; and who never, Ever, EVER should've been ****ing paid ahead of Thuney.

So unless his signing is Immediately followed by trading OneMenu, then No Thanks.

I'd be entirely OK with bringing Shaq back at a fair deal for what he currently is. Can't have too many veteran OL. If nothing else, he's an experienced voice in the room which is helpful when we're trying to go young.
