An underrated strength of BB, imo. He never bashed players on the way out, and while very few would be visibly peeved after leaving, many of those guys eventually came around with time. Some would even return to the team. Not publicly burning bridges has served him well in the past.

He had a couple of stints here so that indicates some mutual respect. Bill definitely saw eye to eye on some of the freakish things he would do on special teams like leaping over the line.

I didn't go searching for links but I also recall them always speaking well if each other with the media.

From the way Edelman talks about him, I think Bill respected Jamie a lot as he was willing to often give him a pass and knew upfront that Collins might freelance.

I do find it interesting he picks him as an assistant though, lol.
