1. Better than what they have.
2. Won't cost them a 120m
3. Will likely be 75% production of your man crush Higgins while costing probably 50% of the cash.
4. Still have all their picks to get better elsewhere
5. With Godwin, Adams, Pop, Bourne and Boutte, they'd have a capable WR room for the first time in fekkin' years.

I told you to not have all your eggs in the Tee Higgins basket.
The only problem with Godwin and Adams, is that they're both stop-gap measures, they're not long-term solutions. That's *fine*, but you still have to bring in a long-term solution at the position.

To obtain Higgins means trading for him especially with the tag on him now.

Zuma were you arguing 36 games missed isn't alot for a starting OL ?
If you look at the screenshot I provided it shows 3 seasons. In those last 3 season he missed 10 games out of 51 ( excluding playoffs).

Yes, both would definitely be stop gaps. Ideally you want to try to draft that guy. Unless the WR curse gets lifted in Foxboro then we are stuck trying to sign FAs..

Got it. He was drafted in 2019 and since that point has missed 36 games in 6 seasons. My point was durability would be my only concern.. at age 31... he has been able to stay 'healthy " as you pointed out recently. However does have a history of Missing time. But when the OT position is as bad as ours you have to basically make a move on him.

Sure, but it's an immediate turn around. Redskins Commander-esque. They'd still have the picks to take best WR at #38, or even move up into the bottom of R1 for Golden.

EDIT: I think they need to spend early draft picks on WRs every year, much like the Steelers kinda do. JJSS in 2017, Washington in 18, Johnson in 19, Claypool in 2020, Pickens in 2022, Wilson in 2024. Keep throwing **** at the wall.

Ah ok.

I have no expectations that the Patriots will be much better than 7-10 this season no matter who they bring in. If you really think they can turn it around that quickly, then certainly your scenario makes a lot more sense.

I think the offensive and defensive lines are a bigger issue than a one-year rebuild.

Thats kinda where I am with this team. The dearth of talent all over the roster is makes it unlikey they can compete for a playoff spot in 2025.

With that said their two biggest positions will be much improved in 2025....Head coach and Drake with Josh calling plays.

The OL and DL are the number 1 priority. Bring in 1 FA receiver that you think can contribute. The one thing everyone forgets in the anointing of Drake Maye is his propensity to self-destruct late in games. Fixing that is my priority. If it happens the team should be really good in a couple years. The saving grace this year is the schedule. I'm open to the possibility of a .500 + record, but only if they can play clean football.

IMO, KC is done. The real test to their “ dynasty” has just begun, and I just don’t get the vibe they’ll be able to maintain what they’ve done.

They went all in for the past 3 years. Got carried throughout the process by the league, and were exposed for their real talent level in the superbowl.

My guess is, they won’t be back In the superbowl for at least 3-4 years, if ever again.

They are basically one WR away from being an annoying threat again.

I think he meant in the context of “either the Chargers with Herbert or whatever team Rodgers goes to instead”.
I don't believe he would go ANYWHERE as a backup, and Herbert isn't going anywhere,
Harbaugh is in Love with Justin.

He’s not talking about Aaron Rodgers in the context of the Chargers though, he’s talking about Davante Adams. i.e Adams would either go to the Chargers to play with Herbert, or go to whatever team Rodgers plays for (not the Chargers). I think the original post was worded awkwardly. Could’ve said “maybe he might want to play with the Chargers, or maybe he’d rather follow Rodgers wherever he goes”.

One of the good things about signing guys like Kupp or Adams is that they can clean their contracts off the books in a couple of years, freeing up large cap space just as Maye is hitting his stride and they are true contenders.

Kupp or Adams would be short term, but while the team re builds then having respected and seasoned vet receivers is not a bad thing. It gives the team a strong base when moving forwards.

I agree. Adding certain veterans on shorter deals works because they fill needs, often being leadership, and the deals are short enough that you open up chunks of cap space in a couple of years to spend on players you need then. The bad deals are the ones where you overspend for longer deals and end up screwed, like the Dolphins.
