With the exception of desirable arm length, he has every trait that you would want in a LT (or just a Pro Football Player In-General). Pro Sports are replete with "Firsts". Is it impossible that even if his arms are under 33 inches he could still be a career 1st Team Pro Bowler/All Pro LT? No. The history says that it's unlikely. Even so, as there's always a first time for everything and everyone, someday some OT with shorter than 33 inch arms is going to be a stud LT. It's inevitable. So, let's not be totally surprised, if given everything else about him as an OT and as a person, that he becomes the 1st!

Bernard Raimann was pretty good for the Colts last year with 32 7/8" arms.

I know the name, but I'm not familiar with his production at LT. I do see that he was a 3rd Round Pick. Why didn't we get him? Big difference between the 3rd Round and the Top 10 of the 1st Round though.

Not saying PFF is the end all, be all. But he was the 8th overall tackle, according to their rankings. Just using it to give you an outside point of reference.

I don't think that's accurate. Greg Bedard said he'd been measured pre-season at 32 7/8 and he hasn't been measured yet at the combine so I don't know where that number came from.

By the way, people should go listen to the interview with Connor Rogers at the link . Will sounds like a really good guy. When asked what he would do in the off-season and whether he'd do farming, his reply was - 'I'll be getting ready for next season'. He's winning me over.

That number came from ESPN per the measurement from LSU. I am pretty sure that Bedard and ESPN are citing someone from the day he was measured. ESPN says 33 7/8 and Bedard says 32 7/8. We will find out tomorrow.

Simmons injury does not seem to be significant, so Campbell's arm situation is not going to figure into the pick at #4.

There was heavy use of the word probably in Simmons' statement about taking part in his pro-day. It's certainly more promising for him but I'm not convinced yet. Hopefully we'll get some info out of the combine about his injury.

Didn’t joe Thomas has arms below 33? What concerns me more about Campbell is that he gives up his inside too easily at least in the 3-4 games I have seen there were tendencies but those things are fixable I guess

I believe Barth heard he's measured in at 33 1/8

So with the numbers out of the way and the FA crop dwindling , what do you do? Pick him regardless??

Thomas was 33 3/4

Joe Thomas' arms measured at the Combine as 33 and three quarter inches. Which is not amazing by any stretch.

So here's where I stand.

1. Campbell is almost certainly a LG. I'm actually more bothered by his wingspan than his arm length.

2. He'll be a terrific guard.

3. I think that 4 pick is up for grabs now as to who we'll pick but I still like Campbell there (preferably with a trade down) because he still ticks a number of boxes like football character and smarts and because I've seen people talk about him as a future all-pro guard.

4. We would still need a development LT to go with a FA signing. Charles Grant and Logan Brown are my favourites.

5. Things are certainly a lot less clear now than they were.

I know we had the Alaric Jackson arm length discussion before. That site says his arm length at his pro day was 32.5. His Senior Bowl was 32.5. I dont know where the 33+ number comes from. To me, 32.5 is the verified number.

Also knowing Raimann has sub 33" arms gives us two current, productive tackles with similar arm lengths.

It's a disappointing number for Campbell for sure. But i still think hes tackle capable. You'd like to eliminate questions, but everyone at 4 is going to have questions. The only other consensus top 5 player is Graham, and he has measurable issues as well.

Yup. Shortest wingspan of any OT at the combine since 2011. And I say that as a Campbell booster.
I'll be very curious how he does at bench press.
