Burrow and Chase have gotten the Bengals knocking on the door of a Super Bowl ring with a mediocre head coach. There is a chance they will get one or more.

Patrick Mahomes

I really love Drake Maye, but let’s see him make a BIG 2nd year jump before we say he’s even a top 10 QB. I’m cautiously optimistic.

I’m a huge fan of his, have his jersey, a couple of his rookie cards, and you can’t help but be excited based on what we saw last year, but let’s wait and see. It’s nice to hear these things from people outside of the Patriot’s organization, they are extremely high on Maye.

I do agree that if Maye and his top receiver are as good a combination as Burrow-Chase, we may indeed be in great shape. I think that our QB-QR combination will likely be far from that (no matter who we sign) and the supporting team will take a lot to be as good.

The Pats will have to build a team around Maye no matter how good Maye becomes, but having an elite QB is a major step towards winning a Super Bowl or even a dynasty. I don't get why you are dismissing the impact if Maye can live up to his ceiling of being a top 5 QB.

If Maye becomes a top 5 QB and Vrabel is a very good coach, I like the Pats' chances of winning another Super Bowl. It is still far from a guarantee, but those are two of the most important pieces in a Super Bowl formula. The Bengals have the former and not the latter.
