Wolf has final say on the roster

The only final say Wolf has is when Vrabel says “I don’t care which one of the two guys we get. Just make sure you get one of them”.

Hopefully Wolf contributes more in year 6 with the organization. Can’t wait to see how this highly anticipated scouting system that has been kept on wraps until this year pays off..

Idk why anyone would think or be upset that the GM has full control. No team in the NFL gives the HC final say on the rsoter. That's an archaic model that stopped a long time ago. Belichick was the last coach to get that and he eventually lost his job over it.

Even top end coaches like Andy Reid and Pete Carroll don't have full roster control. The BB regime skewed how fans here think of how regular organizations run. The Patriots already have enough issues with their org not being modern

This has been given so much energy by fans and media because ultimately it doesn't matter who has final say. You bring in good players or you don't. Kraft will hopefully respond accordingly if the roster is terrible again. I understand that the media needs to have something to talk about, but fans have no clue really.

We have no idea what the discussions are behind the scene nor do we know what the negotiations. We as fans are mostly idiots that watch football and then think we know better.

If "final say" is a recurring issue, then the team is doomed. The head coach cannot be responsible for the year long scouting process. That's not practical. BB had final say for years, but that stopped working once the brain drain reached a point that there wasn't general alignment there. He still had a strong personnel department whose assessments and valuations were generally aligned with his own.

Complete and total alignment 100% if the time is obviously not going to happen and sometimes it's going to be a truly divided room where someone has to say Player A or Player B but if that's a frequent fight you have to have then your coach and personnel guy are mismatched and one of them needs to go. In this case, it would presumably be Wolf so I guess Vrabel has "final say" in the organizational sense but for individual assessments the personnel side is probably in better position to make most of those calls. The personnel side needs to be evaluating and assessing under the same general philosophies as the coach though.

Maybe with BB it was the coach but BB is a special figure in football history. That is not the standard we should be going off of.

Not buying it.

Wolf is not a limelight/ego guy, he's a collaborative type and I'm sure he's happy to work with an experienced HC who knows what he wants and what works. There will be some disagreements about one prospect vs another, but I think this arrangement can work. Not worried about the org chart.

The coaching staff has been fixed, and next is to build offensive & defensive lines that are competent. Somehow must make that happen.

A little front office news.

He has final say to do what Vrabel tells him to

His statement completely contradicts Vrabel’s position that he has final say on personnel. I have defended Wolf but Vrabel should have final say on personnel. I think he’s wrong on this.

It's insane how bad people are at press. This is why Bill and Berj Najarian were so careful with it. Media has taken on this less-than-serious appearance to newer generations. I can't blame them, it's been getting ****tier and ****tier and is just a brand marketing platform most of the time. But I think it causes people to forget that, if you want to speak to the press, you gotta be prepared for every question, otherwise don't say ****.

The only answer here is "I am responsible for the end result of the draft. That's my corner."

You're not saying anything about a decision making tree, you don't give any team any insight as to how your team is being built, you don't imply that you're the final say, you just take responsibility and that's it.

Patriots, please put me on the payroll to do media classes with your organization. Tired of this stupid parade of conflicting messaging. It does not give me any confidence that the little **** show is over.

I don’t think so. I think Vrabel will have final say. Kraft will side with Vrabel over Wolf.
Fired Mayo, kept Wolf, hired Vrabel, kept Wolf. Why Wolf? What makes him a special GM? You think he's good at his job? Would you hire him with his track record for the future? Fool me once, shame on me....fool me twice

Thunder has the final say.

He is the King and this is the way he has set up his franchise. Disagreements between Vrabel's personnel man and the Wolf/Groh tag team will ultimately be decided by King Kraft. Much like Jerry Jones who already owns a Gold jacket. Kraft must show more control over his franchise and prove that he is the reason for success.

I am hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.

The Raiders picked 13th last draft and came away with a foundation TE, OT and G - All started in 2024.

Feeling for Mayo now. It's like regime change happened but we kept the Iatohla kolmane. I remember smoking outside with the bosses son, get caught, I'm fired he stays on.... Mayo like dam, I listened to this Mofo and I get the boot and he keeps cashing checks...

Bedard is insisting Vrabel has final say at the end of the day.

If wolf’s contract ends in May after the draft, then this means this might be Mike or RK doing him a solid by allowing Wolf to say he has final say even if he doesn’t. Also if it’s a ****ty draft by the team… there is the scapegoat.
