No no. The list shows at least 20 players who are equal to or marginally better than Higgins. That's why I said 20-22 might be appropriate as opposed to Higgins being 15th best ranked wr in nfl

Higgins looks great because Chase got 175 targets which is insane.
Look at his numbers in the second half of the season, he's consistently in the teens each week. Crazy.
Wich gives is about 150 million in cap space. The notion we made add players similar to 2001 is still real here. That off season we added 23 FAs. We will get guys.. some top tier, some middle level, and some depth guys. I'm more interested in having a complete team offense, defense, special teams then just one player. We are allowed a 90 man roster during the off season people have to remember this.
Chase had 1,600 yards... our entire WR'S combined. I want a complete team. We have the QB, we have the coaching now get the entire roster up to NFL standards.
Remind your brother PF of this part. There's more to a complete team than shiny wideouts.
Oh he knows.. he just likes to point out possible game changers. but I've just come to the realization that this roster needs to be upgraded all around.. except QB.. give me 5 competent OL..& some DL that can actually get to the passer. A CB other than Gonzo that can challenge WRs..

no... the cap estimated that are on OTC were fairly accurate... @Ross12 pointed out that they were using an estimated 279m cap for this year... so it is basically in the range of what we were thinking... plus or minus a few million dollars...
I found out that they had corrected their site to the $279M number very quickly, previously they were using a figure around $273M. But still, it's a matter of like $6M, that's not going to do much. It means a team with zero cap space now has enough room to sign their draft class. Hardly factors into the grand scheme. It's within range of expectations. We'd need to be talking like $290M+ to actually be in the range of surprise and have real impact on the market.

I think you have it dialed. I think Baker has a 10 cent head and he's gonna struggle with JMcD's system. Polk likely will have a huge turnaround, huge being a relative term. He starts at zero. He's been horrible with horrible coaching. Now he will at least be coached well, and may be a capable NFL receiver. I don't think he is ever going to be great, but he may be a serviceable NFL player. Boutte has a real opportunity to shine here now, as does Pop, knowing how slot WRs excel in this system. To your point, Gibson is already here, so the role of James White / Kevin Faulk is filled.
Agreed. Baker has real talent and abilities. As you mentioned immaturity is the only thing that can hold him back.. what's odd is he and and polk both had great training camps even both make plays against Gonzo. I believe the coach aspect affect thier growth more than anything.. allegedly Josh is running a system that fits Drake and his abilities and not trying to fit square peg in a round hole.. that's where the Patriots used to go wrong with WR'S. Growth is all we need from the younger guys.. Gibson is one of the best all around backs in the league as far as his skills set. He's a former college WR and has an ability to be IMO an all pro caliber player under Josh. I think there are some players that may not be here soon.. I'd keep my eye on rham, Tavai to name a few.
I think the problem of developing WRs in NE was a multi-headed problem: Bill's scoring system of WRs coming out, valuing coachability over athleticism, JMcDs system geared to run at a Tom Brady level, and Brady's late career lack of patience with young guys not being able to keep up. Now, to your point, it's set to be run at Maye's level, and everyone starts at the ground floor.
