First Meaningless 2025 Mock

I'm mostly fixated on the idea of Vrabs selecting Sawyer with his Ohio State connection. I don't imagine he would let that play a role in his thinking lol but it's hard not to think it especially given the that particular position which he once played.
For me it's less about the Ohio State connection and more about the effort, the physicalness and his run defense.

Here’s my Patriots’ mock. Kinda shocking!

If the Patriots Draft actually turned out that way, I'd swear that it was a dream. That would go down as worst case scenario to be in the Top 3 best Drafts in Team history (in theory, and if the picks worked out it would be unimaginable).

And McD must be thinking of some of those national championship-caliber members of the Ohio State offense who can help him too...

I am guilty, more than anyone, of over-thinking the draft, so here's my 'don't overthink it mock':

Assumptions:

1. Carter and Hunter are off the board
2. We've signed Ronnie Stanley
3. Based upon Dane Brugler's top 100

4. Mason Graham
38. Jack Sawyer
69. Tre Harris
77. Omar Norman-Lott

Elite DT
Perfect compliment to Vrabel's culture change
Analytically, the best WR in the draft
The best interior rusher in the draft.
Replace Harris with Higgins and you get my vote for GM

My binky draft. These are my favorite players at a position of what I think is a need. I also made the assumption that we brought in a LT, LG, RT and only Elijah Moore at WR(former binky). Sanders can play 3 or 5 tech, but is better at 3. Campbell is a 3 down LB with great speed, instincts, in coverage and can rush of the edge. Higgins, I just can't give him up. Plays X and power slot, I think McD would be able to utilize him well. Lott gives me Osa Odig vibes and can play 3 or 5. West is a really good run stuffing NT that can also rush the QB. Croskey-Merritt Stood out at the Shrine bowl, that is where he caught my eye. Very quick, at least in that game and I admittedly have not watched more of him, but went back through some of my prospect notes and saw his name so here he is. Armstrong 6-4 and 205 that is strictly an X, dart throw. I like his tape, but honestly this could change post combine because I like some other big WRs at this point. I was looking for big guys because we have enough smaller guys. Warren is self explanatory, our TE's are older (Hunter and Hooper, I assume he is resigned)

If the draft turned out like that I would be super happy because that means we fixed the OL through FA, we got weapons for Drake or at least competition in camp, and I think the additions to the front 7 would have a huge impact on our pass rushing hurries and sacks.

It's a great mock. I love the West and Sanders picks. My only issue is that it's a little weak on pass rushers but of course that would have been addressed in FA right?

Traded down, and with the top tackles off the board I went with M. Golden. Felt good about this one as there’s some good potential starters

Honestly if I could somehow turn our #4 pick into 4-6 second picks this year, I’d do that in a heartbeat. In theory if you drafted 6 second round players, you’d get two borderline pro bowl players with All-Pro ceilings, and 4-5 serviceable players. To me, this years drafts talent pool just feels the same from pick 1 to pick 64. Even at 4 we aren’t getting a sure thing future all pro. With that being said, it feels like a crapshoot this is generally when you pick from 15-64

I wouldn’t take this approach in years past or future years, it’s just specific to this draft class.
