This is up in the air for me… even at their peak the coaches could usually squeeze one good player out of a couple draft picks, an UDFA and a value vet.
The year they drafted J’whaun Bentley they drafted his twin a round later in Christian Sam. They already had Donta Hightower but were looking for his eventual replacement at that SAM LB spot.
Donta hung on longer and signed for reasonable contracts, Bentley shined but patiently waited his turn, Christian washed out after his rookie contract.
I see Bourne, Boutte and other vets playing better than expected with a better line and Drake Maye. Polk and or Baker might become serviceable… or one or both might fail.
As long as the Pats find production in the draft and free agency nobody will remember the failures.
