NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Super Bowl LIX Game Day Thread: KC ChiRefs vs Philadelphia Eagles

They’ll never admit it but this loss hurt some of them a lot because they now face Mahomes being 3-2 in superbowls. If Mahomes got to 4-1 then they could have said that “well Mahomes got to 4-1 which beats Brady in that regard.” Imagine if he falls to 3-3?
Oh man, this brought me back to the Seattle SB and the feeling of dread after Kearse made that catch. We were one more Lynch carry away from seeing that fall to 3-3 happen to Brady. I remember feeling like the universe really does hate us now and then Malcolm Go happened.

When Kearse made that catch I was cursing kearsing the football gods, and then the miracle Hightower stop, and then the pick.. I dropped to my knees. What a rollercoaster, best end ever.

When I saw that I thought immediately that he was over the line. I was shocked they missed it and thought the Philly should have challenged that . Is that a play that is not allowed to be challenged ?
I think the rule is pretty generous. As long as you have one pinky behind the line you're good.

I think every single person who was a fan, player, coach, and FO person all collectively believed that just for a second, curses are real. There was an uptick in superstitious belief for a second. Truly a "....no ****ing way this is happening again" moment.

I didn’t know we are now calling a textbook routine deep throw and catch by an NFL QB and receiver one of the “best throws in Super Bowl history”…

Im not sure why they need to prop Mahomes up after the sb loss. Its insecurity. He had a bad game and it’s okay to admit that. IMO he’s still the third best QB ever.
Only reason for this is ball washing. Same as it was with Afraud Rodger’s and others…

heard Chris Simms (lol) make all the excuses in the world for Mahomes. he said Mahomes had to go against the best single season team of the salary cap era (2024 Eagles) hahaha

1995 Cowboys? 1996 Packers? 1999 Rams? 2004 Patriots? 2007 Patriots? 2013 Seahawks?
I'm sorry....what?

The Eagles would've been smoked by a healthy 49ers and Lions teams. People are already forgetting they were afterthought before the injuries took out most contending NFC teams.

There are too many teams to name over the years that were better than the 2024 Eagles. People are overrating them based on how badly they beat down the Chiefs who had this coming.

I dunno if Pat Mahomes Sr. is annoying, I know nothing about him, but John was a garbage player and is a loudmouth dipshit who deserves to have his mouth stapled to his ass.

Lmao. No team from 2024 could ever be the best, it was a very weak year overall. I can't think of a single "historical" great aspect of any team.

Lowkey it sparked the second dynasty.

I’m wondering if we have really seen the pinnacle of the chiefs “dynasty”. We know Reid is old and won’t last the same as Kermit. The key to them being another great dynasty is Kermit’s health. We know the freak (said with love) Brady was/is and how long he lasted bordered on supernatural and I can’t say I think Kermit’s even remotely close to how he prepared and took care of himself. I think this loss (a big kick in the balls denying them something special), Kelqueef losing MANY steps and about to retire (needs to before a serious injury happens to him), Reid being old and possibly retiring “soon”, and Kermit maybe losing a step or several (if not now, then soon), will all factor into the Chiefs being irrelevant in a few years. I think the stars are aligning, or at least I am hoping they are….a boy can dream can’t he? . I must also say, it would be very cool if the final team to knock the Kermit led Queefs out of contention was our rebuilt Vrabe’s Pats with Drake leading em…very cool return to greatness indeed…dynasty 3.0!!! LFG!!!

Couldn’t bring myself to watch it in fear of the pat mahomes GOAT garbage, a shame the league have ruined my interest continually pushing these pricks down our throats and helping them every week.

Glad the eagles destroyed them and proved how weak they really were. Hopefully we don’t see them reach the Super Bowl for a few years now.

Brady lasted as long as he did, not just because of his fanatical attention to health, but also because he was a pure pocket passer who didn't need to rely on his legs. Mahomes is not the same. As soon as his legs go, his career will fall off a cliff.

Could be, but what I saw falter in Mahomes game was his off platform throws, which have served him well throughout his career, but led to at least one pick in that game.

To your point this is a critical off-season for KC.

They need major help on the line and need to find the next safety valve replacing Kelce.

Because of Mahomes's ability, I think they can get by with Worthy and Rice (assuming he comes back 100%) at WR.

He turns 30 in Sept so in theory he is in his prime. They need to keep him upright and throw more and run less if they want him to last past 35

This should be a banner put next to our other 6.
