I don’t like this at all
We essentially swapped theirs for ours.
Bet it was Vrabel’s call not his:

Yep, from that article:
Pellegrino was reportedly open to staying. …

Vrabel hired Justin Hamilton, who was an assistant defensive backs coach with the Indianapolis Colts last season. Hamilton, who played for Cleveland and Washington, was a defensive quality control coach for Vrabel in Tennesse in 2023.
This is one move where I’m not happy with what Vrabes did. Letting Brian Belichick go is another. We will have to see how the defensive backfield works out. I think the best we can hope for is the new coaches are equally good as the ones let go, doubt they’ll be any better.

I don't mind seeing the lacrosse player from Johns Hopkins & Bill's other kid leave, but ownership should've insisted - if money for on-field & off-field staff is indeed no object - that Vrabel do better, in some cases much MUCH better, than he ended-up doing, which was simply to invite as many of his "loyal" (not necessarily proficient) buddies of his from his former team. This new coaching staff - while obviously better than the most recent one - disappoints the **** outta me.

Zo and guys talking on the radio right now about possible reasons why Mayo's brother was kept on, and whether Vrabel really wanted him or not. Conjecture is that it may have something to do with placating Mayo (and maybe this whole lawsuit rumor thing).... If so, I like it even less... Last thing we need is another Mayo undermining the Head Coach (which I suspect happened to some degree in BB's last days here).

It's one thing to listen to that **** but to believe it is a whole other problem. First they said Kraft forced McDaniels onto Vrabel and a group of folks ate it right up. Now Kraft forced Mayo2 on Vrabel as well. Goooootcha! So, Vrabel isn't in charge of football operations. It's that cheapskate boogeyman Kraft at it again. I just can't with the ******** nonsense these guys spew anymore. Seriously. Think about what they're saying. Kraft thinks he can avoid a lawsuit from Mayo by keeping his brother employed? Think about how stupid that is. From every angle, it's stupid.

Meh. I wouldn't put any stock into what those guys are saying. Vrabes probably wanted Brian Bell but it didn't work out.

How do you know he isn't one of them undercover?

For a small CT town there are a few NFL connections here. But forget the intel, I'll shoot for tickets instead haha

With how the internet works, I would not be surprised if there are undercovers, especially in these parts. I’m sure the social media team from the pats has accounts here if not players and others. Need Ian to do something sleuthing of logs to see if they’re not being smart about it.

Edit: As fans, I’m sure this has probably been done.

How ****ed-up of an organization is this when the health & well-being of your players is placed in the hands of someone merely so that his brother won't sue you? If I'm a sought-after-enough UFA and little things might make a difference between one team or another, then this team's training staff is something into which I would look verrrrrrrrry closely...

How screwed up do you have to be to believe that sort of idiocy that you just spewed?

Seriously. Deron Harmon was under contract with the Patriots. He was under contract with them PRIOR to Jerod being hired. His status with the Pats has NOTHING to do with Jerod.

Only the gullible believe the BS that there as a lawsuit coming. Great job.

Weird announcement. There has got to be something behind this "fellowship" distinction in this case.

TB80 has been an assistant coach in this league. It's not hes a 25 y/o grad assistant from SW Missouri State.

Sorry but the color of his skin was not an impediment to his qualifications. It was based on merit.

Per NFL.com:

The program's objective is to use NFL clubs’ training camps, offseason workout programs and minicamps to give talented coaches opportunities to:

  • Observe
  • Participate
  • Gain experience
  • Ultimately gain a full-time NFL coaching position
Designed as a vocational tool to increase the number of full-time NFL minority coaches, all 32 NFL clubs participate each year. Specific aspects of the program — including hiring, compensation and coaching duties — are administered on a club-by-club basis. The NFL does not mandate any elements of the fellowship to the clubs, but it recommends several best practices, including:

  • Hiring participants for the duration of training camp, including all pre-season games.
  • Encouraging clubs to hire at least two fellows with an offensive coaching background.
  • Mentoring participants in the form of continuing and constructive feedback regarding their work while with the club.

Applicants must meet one of the following prerequisites to be considered for the fellowship:

  • Former NFL player
  • Coaching experience at either the high school, college, and/or other football leagues level (CFL, UFL, etc.)
The Process: Applicants will fill out the online application and select the top 5 NFL clubs they have an interest in completing a fellowship with. Clubs will be alerted of the application submission and will reach out to the applicant individually for further steps if they so choose.

Timing: Fellowships can take place during OTAs, minicamps, or Training Camp and the length of the fellowship ranges from a few days to a few weeks. In select cases, clubs have extended a fellow to work on staff with them for a season or year.

Yeah, Im not sure. I read another thing on google that said if they coached at the professional level they could still be considered. Not sure if that is true or not though.
