It's easy, and only takes a few moments. You mean you THINK/HOPE they are going to be very good players and that's the point i made. I'm not saying to trade 4 but that's the reason why you would and is the answer to the question you originally asked.
And again i will tell you i'm not saying to trade 4 but was answering your original question as to why people would want to do it.And again I will tell you that making such moves years away from serious contention is how you never win a Lombardi.
The only reason why anyone would seriously consider trading pick #4 for an active player, who's name isn't Patrick Mahomes or something, is schizophrenia. And again i will tell you i'm not saying to trade 4 but was answering your original question as to why people would want to do it.
Pickens was a problem at Georgia, a problem at Pittsburgh, and he will be a problem wherever he goes. It’s who he is, nothing is going to change that.Maye to Pickens or Higgins would feed families.
I cant disagree more. Kupp is a slot receiver, which is douglas and bourne's best position. Kupp has played lest than 2/3rds of the games for the last 4 years. He turns 32 before training camp. Receiver's who have his history don't start to play more games after age 32.
I am not saying he isnt better, just not worth 20mill and a draft choice The delta between Douglas and him is not 18mil dollars and say the 104th pick. I rather give that to a Stephon Diggswell then disagree to your hearts content. You are wrong on every level, but eh, thats on you. He's not a just "slot" receiver. Kupp can line up anywhere. And be productive.
People got to get over this "slot" thing... and so what if he is "just a slot receiver" ... He's better than anyone we have on the roster... in fact, based on Kupps production as a 2 - in limited games, hes still better than Douglas + Boutte + Bourne ... If you can't find a place for Kupp on your team, you aren't trying
Even 13 mill and the team eating the 7 mill roster bonus I would not go for it. And borne played the slot with the 49ers too. It is his best position. And Borne when playing the Z is normally on the side of the TE who is on the LOS, alowing Borne to play back of the LOS, so for all intents in the slot.Kupp is power slot. Its a mix between the Z and slot. Bourne is not a slot. He is a Z. He has lined up in slot and X, but he is a Z. The talent in Kupp's pinky blows away Pop. The question is Kupp's health. The salary would be reasonable if the Rams eat part of it like is being reported. With a restructure and dummy years it might be very reasonable. Kupp is good for 10-12 games, but his value is in bringing maturity to a bunch of entitled little brats.
we have 130 million in cap space and no receivers... we can afford it... diggs would be a good get, but you sure you want to sign a guy who torn his acl at the end of october? seems like a shaky signing to me.I am not saying he isnt better, just not worth 20mill and a draft choice The delta between Douglas and him is not 18mil dollars and say the 104th pick. hes worth every penny to a team that is desperate for good receiversEven 13 mill and the team eating the 7 mill roster bonus I would not go for it. And borne played the slot with the 49ers too. It is his best position. And Borne when playing the Z is normally on the side of the TE who is on the LOS, alowing Borne to play back of the LOS, so for all intents in the slot.

Trade 4 to Pitt for Pickens and their First.
We’ve had so many WR that have come here from other teams and were elite and played lights out for them but when they get here they fizzle out…..Jonnu, chad Johnson, Ju Ju, kj Osborn , etc. no guarantees there either. I think we have to pick at four with all the needs that we have… But could also see them trading down and picking up more draft picks as well.Because you know what you are getting vs predicting what you are getting. 4 in a trade would net you a game changer.
Considering the immaturity issues the receiver room already has, I want zero part of Pickens. Tomlin and the Steelers know when to cut bait on most of the lunatics they draft, and I would be shocked if they paid Pickens some real money. He is eligible for a deal this offseason, and I would bet Pittsburgh deals him, and he becomes someone else's headache with a big contract. Just hope it isn't us.Maye to Pickens or Higgins would feed families.
Yeah, but he won't cost 15-25 mill either and won't cost any picks. I am not looking to try and get better talent wise by trading for receivers who are overpaid now or want long term deals when they are 30 Years old. I am not interested in giving Samuel an extension next off season. I want an X type guy, which is the guy we don't have. I am fine with giving Higgens his 30 mill. But I want to see if one of Polk, Baker, Boutte can be a #2 to go along with Bourne and Pop in the slot. I think with Mayes further development, McDaniel's ability to scheme and Downing's tutelage one of them will rise to the challenge. Hell, spend the money on Devante Adams when he is cut. But picks should be used to bring guys in that will be here long term. We are not looking to fill out a contending team to a Superbowl team, but trying to build a .500 team next year.we have 130 million in cap space and no receivers... we can afford it... diggs would be a good get, but you sure you want to sign a guy who torn his acl at the end of october? seems like a shaky signing to me.

thats the market rate for a wr... 15 is below market for a quality wr1... im on board at that price,,, otherwise id rather trade for deeboYeah, but he won't cost 15-25 mill either and won't cost any picks.
gotta work with who is on the FA market, if you don't want to trade... and the pool of what you are looking for is incredibly small...I am not looking to try and get better talent wise by trading for receivers who are overpaid now or want long term deals when they are 30 Years old.
if you land him in a trade, you wont have to extend him next year... the new contract will be done this year... he gets cash up front, we get the flexibility to move on in a few seasons...I am not interested in giving Samuel an extension next off season.
we all do.I want an X type guy, which is the guy we don't have.
me too. not so sure hes leaving cincy thoughI am fine with giving Higgens his 30 mill.
we need better than polk and baker now. wait and see? fine, wait and see while we add a weapon... adding a guy like deebo wont hurt their developmentBut I want to see if one of Polk, Baker, Boutte can be a #2 to go along with Bourne and Pop in the slot. adams? hes older than every guy you've mentioned, and will cost that 25m a year you think you wont have to pay diggsHell, spend the money on Devante Adams when he is cut. But picks should be used to bring guys in that will be here long term. We are not looking to fill out a contending team to a Superbowl team, but trying to build a .500 team next year.
But Adams wont cost you anything in draft capital. Diggs is not a WR1 anymore, but 15 mill for a one year rental in May when he should be running (but not cutting) full speed. Yeah, this year is a bad year for FA WRs that play on the outside. But I think everyone will agree that Josh is one of the best at developing/ and usage of slot type guys. If draft capital is used to bring in players, I rather it be on fixing the llines rather than WRsthats the market rate for a wr... 15 is below market for a quality wr1... im on board at that price,,, otherwise id rather trade for deebo

This guy gets it.But mainly my objection is paying picks for guys that wont be here when we are up to the bills present talent level.
Have zero issues with spending cash for players. I will overpay a guy like Higgins to bring him here. This guy gets it.
If you're trading draft capital, for talent which the Patriots desperately need, it can't be some guy who will be 36 by Maye's option year.
You have 130 million to spend. Use it.
I do if the guy's 30. Maye will be 23 next year.Have zero issues with spending cash for players. I will overpay a guy like Higgins to bring him here.
Give me a Starting caliber RT - Pay the man Onwenu Money.
Josh Sweat wants to be in New England because he loves the Fall Colors - PAY HIM NOW!!!
but i also have zero issues swapping out a third or a fourth to add talent now. It benefits Mayes development to have a reliable pass catcher.
I do if the guy's 30. Maye will be 23 next year.
