2025 LT

Hollin Pierce is really impressive when in pass pro move but is really slow when in space.

Christian-Lichtenberg is developmental Nate Solder. Has a lot of good things about him but he's not the stoutest.

I need to watch Logan Brown.
Good stuff.

Logan Brown is a name I remember. Five star kid out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who went to Wisconsin. Michigan State and other schools desperately recruited him.

Never lived up to his hype with the Badgers. Was he dismissed from Wisconsin? Something happened. Not good. Transferred to Kansas.

Underachiever who has big time OT traits. Is his head not on straight? If he weren’t a punk, he’d a been a contender….

I've not even heard the name. Will look at him today.

Logan Brown's scouting report is really interesting. Has almost 35" arms.

SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS

  • Prototype NFL tackle frame with rare length and ideal weight distribution.
  • Elite athlete who consistently reaches the second level with ease, neutralizing linebackers in space.
  • Exceptional mirror ability in pass protection, nullifying speed rushers off the edge.
  • Devastating initial punch that routinely stones defenders and establishes dominant leverage.
  • Displays outstanding flexibility and knee bend, maintaining leverage throughout reps.
  • Road-grader in the run game who consistently creates movement at the point of attack.
  • Scheme-versatile skill set that excels in both gap and zone blocking concepts.
  • Blue-chip pedigree now matched with high-level production against top competition.

SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES

  • Occasionally oversets against crafty edge rushers, leaving inside vulnerable to counter moves.
  • Can improve consistency in sustaining blocks through the whistle on longer-developing plays.
  • May need continued work on recognizing and picking up stunts and blitzes at the next level.
  • Medical history as a Type 1 diabetic requires diligent management at the professional level.
  • Limited experience in a pro-style offense may necessitate an adjustment period in the NFL.
One red flag though is that in the two seasons prior to 2024, he only played in 6 games. Is that a result of injuries or his diabetes?

trading down to the 8-12 range and trading up in the back end first round to select 3 times top 40 would be a dream scenario for me
You will never get Green and Stewart from 30 to 40. Do you like selecting at 30 and 40 if you consider realistic options? Anyone would trade down and love Green and Stewart at 30 and 40.

i agree, unfortunately these simulators need to be taken with grain of salt since they need to update their rankings

I am wondering what the thoughts are on Donovan Jackson as a possible left tackle. When Josh Simmons went down Ohio State moved him from left guard to left tackle. The report I heard was in the last half of the season he allowed one pressure and no sacks.

He is 6'4" 320 lbs and might be available in the early second round maybe someone could confirm or elaborate more on him as a possible left tackle.

Thanks.

If he has the physical & athletic qualities of a starting NFL LT, then I see no reason why he can't stay out there, unlike that MULTIPLE-ROUND over-drafted slug Wallace.

I feel like that he needs to be discussed in the same breath as the other LT's, but most "experts" seem to over look him

I watched his LT tape and really liked him. Strong base, quick feet in the pass set, more than adequate length and good in space. If he's there at 38, I think he's a no-brainer pick because what is there to lose? On the upside you get a starter level LT and on the downside what was considered a first round guard.

He had two sacks against him, but that was his first game at LT and came against Abdul Carter so excusable. He gave up 10 pressures for the rest of the season and no sacks. He only gave up one pressure in the post-season. He's my no 3 LT behind Simmons and Campbell.

Ahead of Conerly, Ersery & even Banks?

Conerly's strength concerns me and I'm not keen on the way Banks and Ersery bend so much at the waist. They both play too heavy.

For me it's:

Simmons (I'm ignoring the injury here)
Campbell (I think he's a better guard than LT)
Jackson (Might be No 2 when projecting just as a LT)
Conerly
Banks
Ersery.

Edit: I would take Simmons, Campbell and Jackson in the top half of the first round but not top 10. Conerly and Banks are late first rounders and Ersery is a day two pick although I think there'll be better prospects at 38.

I am firmly in the camp of bring in 4 OL in FA, 2 big signings and 2 mid tier (Jaylon Moore and Justin Skule). Only bring in a developmental LT. This class is pretty disappointing and there are just better defensive players.

I almost completely agree. The only way I differ is that there are good interior OL that could be had on day 3 I'd consider.
