It All Starts Up Front

Yeah that explains why when people discuss the greatest players of all time, all you hear is one offensive lineman after another. No one mentions Brady, Rice, Emmitt, Barry....

emmit had the best OL of his era; without that line, he's not mentioned as a top 10 back.......barry is really the only outlier who did what he did without a solid line

teams rarely win without solid fronts......

kick andrews to guard? or maybe run strange out for one more year at LG, then kick him to center, after David Andrews retires / doesn't get resigned?

I don't think Andrews is physically suited to play anything besides center. He's well into the back half of his time here, perhaps Strange can be heir apparent while rotating with whoever else at guard.

Teams rarely win without solid D-Lines
Teams rarely win without solid secondaries
Teams rarely win without solid special teams

etc....

Mark Sweat as a free agent.

Josh Sweat sure made himself some money last night. Previous estimate was around $20m/yr for 3 years:

What a devastating loss.
Only to his new team, if anybody even picks him up. Diva O linemen aren’t a valuable resource. Although recognizing and reacting to the quality of coaching may have been just self preservation more than a prima donna move,

One interesting phenomenon about the OL and DL is that there is synergy if you have all good players. It has been said that the OL is only as good as its weakest link, and clearly each good player on the DL makes the others there better as well.

I don't know what magic the Eagles have used to have an expensive OL, expensive DL, expensive WR and expensive QB while still having decent cap space.

Its called sarcasm. I hope Elliot's tenure is not marked by this type of idiotic signings. His career in Pittsburg told the story and the guy should never have been signed.

What a devastating loss.

I thought this was done a while ago honestly and the fact he could just bail because “they made me work hard” or wtfh ever made him do it, worries the fk out of me. Was there any specific reason he was quoted saying? Other than it being a **** show and him playing a position that wasn’t his natural one….but, good riddance.

Can’t fix everything in one season. If Andrews and Strange are both healthy the there is your 3 interior guys with Onwenu. Have to focus on the two T positions.

That's because the media can only talk about guys who score touchdowns.

If you want to see what it looks like, to have a full compliment of skill player weapons, and no offensive line, I direct you to the Cincinnati Bengals.

defense is the main issue there they can put up points in a hurry.

They can't rush the passer, they can't stop the run, and they can't protect the quarterback.

This is a team with Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Chase Brown, Mike Gesicki, Mike Hilton, Vonn Bell and Trey Hendrickson.

They finished 9-8. Hendrickson had 17.5 sacks. The rest of the team had 18.5. You need the QBs, and you need the lines. That's how you win football games, especially in the playoffs. And that's always been how you win those games.

A great OL always makes their QB, WRs, and RBs better, no matter how good those are on their own.
And great QB, WRs, and RBs always make their o-lines look better.

LOL!! You mean the #6 scoring team in the NFL?? You totally just demolished your own argument, my friend.

I'll take Cincy's offense every single day of the week and twice on Sunday. Anyone in here would.

9-8. Missed the playoffs.

Cool.
