McDermott lost a lot of points with me vs KC. Clock mgt. Not overruling the play calling. Cook only getting 16 touches.

I don't think Vrabes makes those mistakes.
Agreed there. Is why I'm saying we've already become a better team already simply by the coaching I absolutely like every move Vrabel has made on his staff. Proven, experienced, guys. Yeah McDermott is an odd duck. I can't get over his sketchy 9/11 reference to try and motivate his team during a meeting.

Agree.

The only thing that mildly concerns me with the staff picks is there isn't anyone who has worked with Josh before. Might not be a bad thing either....

Your right there. As we know McDaniels is the one running the offense and I'm sure he'll value everyone's input. If you look at the Jags OL under marrone those guys were maulers and ran the ball well. The OL stands to be much, much better as well.

Yep. My gut tells me they are going to run a hybrid-type offense. Some EP. Some WC. Some Stretch.

Yes I did hear Giardi saying the exact same thing. Drake.. as he's already an impressive guy said he wants to learn more and wants to be great and that he feels Vrabel and McDaniels are the best teachers for him.

So does that mean in 3 to 5 years we will be talking about the JMcD offense as a distinct and different thing?

If Maye and this offense get going and if over the next 5 years it turns into one of the leagues better offenses then expect JMcD to get one more chance at being a HC.
Call me overly optimistic... but I think this offense can have the possibility of being top 10 like they were with Mac his rookie season. I'm simply looking at we are better at QB..

Saw that, can't say that I disagree looking with it from here, but what do I know.

Taking Cook off the field in multiple short yardage situations made zero sense.

Yeah, because I know that Keagen Stiefel knows all things Patriots. One may disagree with Vrable, but he has certainly taken the time to get every available candidate that he wished to get
Someone ask stiefel if it was insanity watching the coaching last season...

Even if things go well, I can't see another team giving him another shot at HC. I could see a team with a young QB coming up with some title that would be considered a promotion and throwing the bank at him to develop the offense around the prospect.

He's still only 48 and if he can earn it with Maye and without Bill I think he just might get one more chance.

For those of us who golf, going to the range and doing the same thing over and over again is part of the game. You may occasionally tweak something in your swing, but basically you are trying to build consistency. Then again, playing golf may be considered a form of insanity.
