Yeah DT definitely.. McNeil in Detroit will be a FA.. a guy who clogs up the middle at DT.. can also find a guy or 2 in the later rounds 4,5. What we need is edge guys.. pressuring the QB is paramount.
Any QB that sees relentless pressure has a hard time completing passes. These offenses like Buffalo play on all 4 downs. At WR gonna have to seek a trade.. DK, kupp, Olave.
Are you thinking Levi onwuzurike. McNeil just signed an extension in October. Onwuzurike would be very nice. Solid all around game and hopefully was a big fan of Terrell Williams

You are correct! He did reup with the lions.. Sebastian Joseph day and or BJ hill are other guys at DT that would fit perfectly here.. day Vrabel is familiar with I could easily see him here.. he would be a huge upgrade from Godchaux. Onwuzurike I'd absolutely be all in on!

Little was extended by Jax I do believe. The rest of that list…

Good to know.

Unfortunately after Higgins there is NOTHING at WR in free agency. They will have to rely on the draft to get stronger there. I have been more focused on DT than Edge/End, but I will go give them a look as well. CB is really deep in this Draft so I expect them to address it there.
We just have to upgrade WR from disastrous to competent. Would be nice to get a star or two, but we just need to make sure we have guys who belong in the NFL out there. We can get stars at other positions instead where they are available, and get a star WR at another time.

As much as I love tee Higgins.. he'd be a big investment.. we have so many holes or it feels like we do. For example adding depth at OT, DE,LB,DT addresses the trenches. Adding kupp in a McDaniels offense could make a difference like diggs did for Allen.

Sorry 02’, but there’s no comparison between adding Diggs in his prime to Buffalo and adding 31 year old Cooper Kupp to the Patriots. Kupp was a great player, but he maximized his skills despite a 4.62 40 time coming out of college. If he’s lost a step then he’s simply too slow to be really effective now.

Huckleberry there is my friend. The corelation I'm making is.. when Josh Allen got diggs it elevated his game. So as far as kupp declining he was injured the past few seasons. Also we are also underestimating the offensive mystery of Josh McDaniels. Kupp wouldn't be the only guy you'd have someone else In here as well. BTW kupp looked really good against us.. .. Drake needs a guy who can get open and find zones in between defenders.. I'm just simply saying kupp even if he's lost a step is still a great pick up for Drake.

Must of missed that. Is kupp rumored to be released??

Yes.

Pop Douglas gets open and finds the zones between defenders. Boutte has been doing a good job of that.

WR can get open if the QB has time to get the ball out. Something that Maye didn't have a lot of. Which is why focusing on the O-line is a MUST. Whether it be signing Jackson long term or signing Ronnie Stanley short-term and drafting someone to develop behind him.

Not sure why you think that guys who miss 10% or more of their tackles are "perfect fits" for the Pats defense that Vrabel and Williams are installing.

How would Vrabel be familiar with Joseph-Day? Joseph-Day's only year on the Titans was in 2024. Prior to 2024, he was with the Rams, Chargers and 49ers. Vrabel was with Cleveland in 2024 Vrabel would be more familiar with BJ Hill since the Browns played the Bengals twice last year.

Your claim that Joseph-Day would be a huge upgrade over Godchaux is based on what, exactly? Jospeh-Day is not and never has been a NT. Something that Godchaux is at 330lbs. Joseph-Day spent 319 of his 480 snaps playing DE. Your comparison is non-sensical at best.

Why trade for a guy who it's rumored is going to be released?
There is value is actually getting the player instead of hoping that you might get the player later. Trading for Bourne allows a team to sign one fewer WR free agent or draft one fewer WR.

CHOICE 1
Trade for the player.

CHOICE 2
Wait for him to be released in mid-July and try to be the team that signs him.

You do realize that Wolf works for Vrabel now, right?

Vrabel has final say on all personnel, right?

So of course Vrabel is going to take the player he wants.

Why is this even a question when they have stated it clearly and publically?
Every poster has a right to his own personal organizational chart.

@captain stone how dare I make a post about possible FAs . it feels like some posters still think we are the Brady patriots where we can turn down possible talent.. Godchaux is an overrated player. He's a run playing DT he doesn't rush the passer.. I'm fine with him being here next season but need another guy next to him. BJ hill is a far better option.

Exactly correct. The BB/brady patriots could do that wait for a player of his caliber to be flat out released and then sign him. We don't have the luxury right now. We must be aggressive come day 1 of FA by a means necessary .

You don't know the difference between being AGRESSIVE and being DUMB. YOU are advocating for the JETS way of doing business. That's a proven failure for 50+ years now.

Didn't I tell you No to Slayton?? Don't Make me.
Haha I understand where you're coming from. I just look at it like this... we lack starting caliber receivers and we lack overall speed in the WR room. Albeit a very flawed one, I think Slayton is a starting caliber receiver and he has speed. It's not a perfect solution or even a long term one by any stretch of the imagination, but I stand by it being someone who improves our overall talent level and a specific skill deficiency in that WR room.

Day signed with Ten just last year. Never played for them while Vrabel was there. Also, not only would he not be a "huge upgrade" over Godchaux, he might even be a downgrade.
