I don't understand the Board's fascination with Elliss. Hooper, Austin, and Jones I agree with. Hopefully we replace the others.

Yeah. Why would the board be fascinated by an awesome special teams player that played well when being asked to play a more active role on defense?? *SMH*

Hasty is somebody you sign right before TC to fill out your 90-man if there's a late injury or something; he should never be considered a legitimate option for your post-TC 69. Ellis & Ximmines are non-priority UFAs; we have bigger fish - much, Much bigger - to fry...
Agree completely. Hooper for sure needs to return. Developed a good chemistry with Maye.

I lived in Lynn for the first 38 years of my life, born at Lynn Hospital (also lived 3 and a half years in Scotland and one year in NH), before moving to WI in 2001. Took 10 years for my "Boston Accent" to water-down from what it was when I moved here.
My wife and I this past October walked about 150 miles of the Ice Age trail starting just outside of Green Bay going south through the Kettle Moraine State Park (and as a child, I lived in Lynn for 3 years, went to Cogshell Elementry for 1st grade).

Because he didn't play well. You must have missed the games. Elliss repeatedly guessed wrong shooting the wrong gaps as the Pats were almost dead last in run defense over the last half of the season. SMH.

Except Pats have 40 million more in space than Commanders did last year they could do a little of both
Washington has a lot of cap space but they also don’t have very many players signed because a lot of their deals were one year deals. It’s a desirable place to go for free agents and we might lose one or two premier free agents we want to them but thankfully their cap space is only half of what it looks like because they have so few players signed for next year

The Patriots can afford to overpay for two guys they really really want and still do what Washington did last year with the rest of the money
I agree we can overpay for 2 guys and do the rest, but alot of people are suggesting Alaric Jackson or Cam Robinson, Tee Higgins, Trey Smith, Josh sweat and Jevon Holland. My guesses are 22M for the LT, 30M for Tee, 23M for smith, 16 for sweat and around 17 for Holland. I think that would be incredibly irresponsible use of the money.

With the hype around Terrell Williams as DC do we think it could lure Jeffery Simmons?

He signed a 4 Years, $94,000,000 contract with the Tennessee Titans in 2023. The contract runs through the 2027 season and has an average annual value of $23,500,000.

Simmons for a 3rd round pick ?

Wouldn't Tennessee be saddled with a huge cap hit for his signing bonus?

I bolded my expectations.

I expect that we can do better than Hasty or Ximinez. However, I would be happy to see Ximinez here if Vrabel wanted him. I just expect him to sign elsewhere.
Well he was coming along and he would have likely been a starter off the edge. But like so much of his career he got hurt. He's a nice depth rotation player. That is also another thing we need to have quality depth this season.

I was there for 2 weeks this summer and saw absolutely no traffic. If I wanted to go to Boston, I'd take the train.

The particular spot I mentioned has barely any beachgoers because the Federal Park Rangers reserve only 15 spots for parking there, so there are always only a smattering of people for an enormous beach protected by a bay and with warm water.
There was a ban on Massachusetts beaches this summer that is why you likely saw no beach traffic.

On those cap hits the teams I'm sure can work out something within the league rules where a trade can work our best for both teams.

Was it a temporary ban? I spent every day of 2 weeks on the beach. Mid to late July. When I was driving on R1 I was often the only car on the road. This wasn't near Boston. This was the North Shore. Our drives were from Newburyport all the way to Gloucester and Salem.

Yes it was a temporary ban I know that 31 beaches were affected by the ban for the better part of the summer last year state wide So you were on Rt.1/95 for most of your drive tines?

Yes, but as I said, north of the city. If I were actually living there, it would be very easy to do my shopping, etc. In past years, we've even taken the train into Boston from there, and it was pretty easy.

Ok understand. Great move taking the train. It's the best way to go in and around Boston. The commuter rail had branched out alot more north over the years as well as south to patriots games and the cape.

Here's an idea:

Chiefs have Trey Smith as a FA, but I bet they will do whatever they can to try and retain him. This would likely lead to them moving on from Thuney due to cap limitations. Think they would save a ton on their cap moving off him.

Older player, but would love to have Thuney back on the line.

Thuney was a solid player here. He's been tasked with playing LT becuase like us KCs tackles suck. I'm sure hes going to command a big payday if Thuney has to play LT full time.. his body type is more of a guard build. You typically want your LT to have long reach.

Lets fix the offense:

1) Sign Alaric Jackson
2) Sign Morgan Moses
3) Trade a 3rd for Kupp
4) Trade back a couple spots and draft Tetairoa McMillan

QB: Maye
RB: Stevenson/Gibson
WR: McMillan
WR: Kupp
WR: Douglas
TE: Henry
LT: Jackson
LG: Strange
C: Andrews
RG: Onwenu
RT: Moses

Macmillan struggles to get separation, even at the college level. And Kupp is 31 and losing a step, which he can’t afford to lose as he was slow for a WR coming out of college..

The Patriots need to add speed and separation at WR, adding two guys who are possession receivers doesn’t help that at all.

You are correct there. I'd also add that currently if kupp were on the current roster he's the best WR. Add kupp and go after tee Higgins.. under Josh polk and baker will be developing correctly.. let's not forget about them.. Higgins, DK or olave are 3 guys that we know can separate.

considering that higgins is not coming here , nor would metcalf or aj brown i would be open for us to get jakobi meyers back in. he should cost us only 10-12 million and maybe get him on a 3 year contract with 2 guaranteed.

Since this year is a reset year to middling level , no need to break the bank and take too much of a risky bet by overpaying for mediocre veterans. jakobi has never had a stud qb throw to him and crossed 1000 yards this season . we have maye now and he could become a sneaky good wr 1.5 .

lets see if josh can bring out some performances from baker and polk. no need to overdraft some one with sepration concerns like tet mcmillan . just go BPA in first 3 rounds and if thats defense so be it. we have gaps everywhere.

Myers and kupp would be nice! If we could pull that off.. I'd like to get a guy outside the numbers.. kupp can run every route in the NFL. But yes Myers is definitely someone we could use.

Only if we could get him for cheap. He will be 33 next year and the average age for linemen is 29 so he is long in the tooth.
