Pretty forgettable years. Zero talent
Adding Vrabel, McDaniels, brown, Marrone is already an upgrade. Trade for kupp first LARs will take any pick pretty much.. we could send a 4th round this year and a 5th next year for kupp.. Higgins sees this. Along with Drake, kupp,McDaniels and 29m I think Higgins goes for it.. he knows he'll get single coverage. Now you have Higgins, kupp, pop, Boutte as your play makers.

As long as white is rushing up the middle he's not an edge guy. Carter, chase young, white, McNeil at DT... all day!
White not an Edge guy in that Mayo/Covington experiment: but might be with Vrabel and that new guy.

Is Deebo Samuel Tradable?? Is that Dead cap hit real??

Didn't we pay Gawd knows last year??

Godchaux is a good player, but like everyone else on the Patriots he was playing in bad circumstances. Pretty much every unit on the Patriots failed, and when the unit fails everyone on it looks bad, especially as you get closer to the ball. I expect them to improve most of the units this offseason, and we will get a better sense of who is worth keeping or releasing. On the defensive line the Patriots have to proceed as though Barmore is done, and defensive tackle is a priority. They need to keep their draft picks and can’t be using a high one to go get a high priced pass rusher.

Using a 4th for Deebo would be worth it. His salary is completely doable, it’s a day 3 pick, and his salary should be coming off the books just as they are getting really good.

Would the 49ers still be on the hook for that dead cap in a Trade??

Trading for Samuels wouldn't just mean taking on his 2025 @$16M cap hit. Whoever has him under contract for 2025 is also on the hook for his 4 void years adding up to @$31M.
Wow that means he's basically untradable... nice way for a original Team to keep a player.

As far as I know it’s on them.

I hadn’t seen Maust’s post. I thought the league did away with those kinds of poison pills after the Curtis Martin deal?

I deleted the post because I found conflicting info on who would eat the void years. There's differing info out there regarding who eats the option bonus portion of the dead money. That's potentially around $16M in potential cost difference to the acquiring team

Yeah I was wondering where that went pulling our legs eh.

Down the labyrinthian NFL accounting rabbit hole I went, wasn't my intent to take anyone with me. Yet another sad case of premature explanation
You good Bro: I would have never figured it out.

We also need to get younger at LB.. I'd like to find a Matt Milano type ILB.. another BC stud BB passed on..

Think we need to zero in on Alaric Jackson at LT in free agency. Stanley is older and likely wants to be with a contender. Cam Robinson, though a bit younger, maybe in the same mindset.
Jackson is 27 and likely wsnts to cash in at this point in his career.

Just my opinion.

I know he was injured, so maybe a discount, but if Dre Greenlaw could look good in a pats uni
Nice find there really want Tavai in a back-up role.
