After last year I could care less if the guy is anti vax or not provided that we don’t have 10 penalties a game from the line. The OL will be chugging bleach
Saw it on Twitter but sources isn’t that reliableHow do you throw that out there without a link or something? I'm not disputing it but c'mon...
Keith Carter and pat O'Hara are OL coaches that Vrabel has worked with before.. Cole Popovich is a familiar name as we know.. I'm sure Vrabel has liked contacted him.. for me as a fan.. it's all about the coaching and then the roster.. solidarity on the OL is so ever pivotal for Drake in his second season. The OL has hampered us for years now. Time to get this **** right and return back to a contender like we are accustomed. Was reading about Bobby Slowik getting let go in Houston... one note of interest that came up was that the Texans let go of their OL coach, Chris Strausser, and that the Asst. OL coach, Cole Popovichs contract has expired...
We all know Popovich from his time here... any interest in bringing either of these guys in? do they have any ties to Vrabel that anyone knows of?
Or, if you have a good candidate, i'd like to know...
Its important we get the line headed in the right direction this year... starts with the coach...
Didn't guggs get canned on the plane ride home after the AFCCG against the Broncos??.. I'm of the mind I entrust vrabel to get the right coaches and players in here.. what a difference it feels like from a year ago.. I'm in on marrone as well! Guys a good coach.I know I mentioned this a few times recently, I'm not sold at all on Popovich. Nothing wrong with making a career of coaching the OL. He's been OL coach for 15 years one place or another. The last 2 years he's been assistant OL coach with the Texans. 15 years and he's and now he's an assistant? And the team didn't renew his contract? Something with him isn't right. Hard pass. DeGuglielmo has been an OL coach for almost 30 ****ing years including the past 5 years in college and the Birmingham Stallions (who?). I don't think he should be on our list of best potential OL coaches. Carmen Bricillo is Dave DeGuglielmo lite. Count me in on the Marrone bandwagon.
Agreed on the offensive side.. one guy that I would have liked Vrabel to keep was TC McCartney.. guy did a hell of a job developing Drake...Doug Marrone would be a solid choice
It is hard to tell why the OL coach is still an open position. As we saw with the hiring of JMD, waiting for candidates to become available after the playoffs is not necessarily a factor. The delay could well be related to allowing JMD and Vrabel to work through what they are looking for with the OL coach.Waiting For Monday
Perhaps an OL, WR, DL or TE coach will become available.
Or perhaps, Vrabel will be able to make his choice because he finds that someone is NOT available.
No matter what you think of the politics around the Vax, someone willing to sacrifice his ambitions due to his personal beliefs should not held against him. If Popovich is the best candidate he should be hired.I’m not a fan of Popovich. The anti-vax issue is too much for me to swallow. TB12 and his guru are gone; don’t let another witch doctor controversy into the building.
Don’t know about Strausser but if he was OL coach with Popovich as his assistant I’d think he’d be worth considering.
So, Houghtaling was OL coach with the Titans, took a step down with the Bears. Why do we think that makes him the best choice? Are the Bears keeping his boss, or should he be on our list?
Can't say he did a bad job either.Agreed on the offensive side.. one guy that I would have liked Vrabel to keep was TC McCartney.. guy did a hell of a job developing Drake...
Agreed there. The OC as we all know makes the call on the coaches who fit thier offense.. the west coast scheme is overrated.. you need the players to execute it. We just need a proficient offense that is going to score points and put pressure on defenses. Can't say he did a bad job either.
Ultimately it came down to how aligned the QB coach is with Josh and understanding of the system they want to install. Seems he wasn't
Another thing of note.. on the DC.. Williams is known to be an aggressive coach who gets every ounce of talent out of his players.. along with adding some studs.. the more I hear about Terrell Williams the more I like. I expect this defense to be back to top 10 next season. Can't say he did a bad job either.

-11 should be a number on everyones mind... we gotta stop turning the ball over...Agreed there. Absolutely correct pape.. nor I know Drake was a rookie so he contributed as well as rham with the fumbles.. things that can easily be fixed.-11 should be a number on everyones mind... we gotta stop turning the ball over...
that is one thing i like about the Josh McDaniels hire... he is risk averse, helps the qb avoid turnoversAbsolutely correct pape.. nor I know Drake was a rookie so he contributed as well as rham with the fumbles.. things that can easily be fixed.
Yes, he play calling and fluidity in the offsen doesn't allow for the QB or the skill players to put the ball in harms way.that is one thing i like about the Josh McDaniels hire... he is risk averse, helps the qb avoid turnovers
best way to do it is to get the ball out of the qbs hands and into the hands of the playmakers... quick, decisive qb play... i think drake can handle it... though i do think he is going to have some rpos for drake... kid can move with the ball in his hands...Yes, he play calling and fluidity in the offsen doesn't allow for the QB or the skill players to put the ball in harms way.
